On August 25, Iran conducted an exercise to evaluate the military's electronic warfare capabilities in dealing with enemy unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), fighter jets and helicopters.
According to Press TV, Iranian navy, army and air force units as well as air defense forces took part in the drills in the largely desert central region of the Islamic country.
The exercise showcased a range of domestically produced military equipment, including radar systems, UAVs, manned and unmanned combat aircraft, micro-aircraft and other military equipment.
Iran has developed a large domestic arms industry amid international sanctions and embargoes against Tehran that prevent it from importing many weapons.
Most recently, on August 22, Iran announced the successful manufacture of the advanced Mohajer-10 unmanned aircraft model, which has improved flight range (2,000km) and flight time (24 hours continuously) as well as increased payload, allowing it to carry many types of ammunition, weapons, electronic warfare and reconnaissance systems.
