On October 28, Tasnim news agency quoted Mr. Salami as saying that Israel "failed to achieve their dark goals" through the airstrike on October 26 and that this was a sign of "miscalculation".

The IRGC leader also warned that Israel would suffer "unpredictable bitter consequences" as the Jewish state fights pro-Iranian armed forces in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.

Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian announced at a cabinet meeting in Tehran that the country would have an “appropriate response” to Israel’s “aggression” against Iranian territory, while warning of the risk of tensions spreading in the West Asian region.

“We do not want war but will defend the rights of our people and our country,” he said.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf also expressed his view that Iran's response to Israel's aggression will be "certain".

On the same day, October 28, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei announced that the country would not adjust its nuclear policy after Israel's attack: "Our stance on weapons of mass destruction is very clear... We absolutely do not support the militarization of the nuclear program."

On October 26, Israel launched airstrikes against several locations in Iran in retaliation for Tehran's October 1 attack on Israel. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his country's airstrikes on Iran were "precise and powerful" and achieved all of its objectives.

On October 27, Iran's official news agency IRNA quoted the country's Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi as accusing the United States of involvement in Israel's recent military operations against Tehran.

Emphasizing that the US provided air corridors and equipment to Israel to carry out attacks on Iran early on October 26, the Iranian official affirmed that the country maintains the view that Washington "must be responsible for that".
