Recently, in his Power On newsletter, Mark Gurman revealed that iPhone SE inventory at Apple Stores in the US is rapidly dwindling. This is a reliable indication that a new model is about to be launched.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stated that the iPhone SE 4 will be released around the first quarter of 2025. Therefore, the device could launch in March or April, similar to previous iPhone SE models.
According to tech experts, the iPhone SE 4 will be the biggest upgrade ever for this product line.
- New design
Accordingly, the iPhone SE 4 is said to have a design similar to the iPhone 14 but with several notable improvements. These include an expected 6.06-inch OLED display with a notch, and Face ID instead of Touch ID fingerprint sensor. However, this model will only have a single rear camera instead of two like on the iPhone 14.
- USB-C port
According to the European Union's regulations on unified charging standards for electronic devices, the iPhone SE 4 will switch from a Lightning port to a USB-C port.
- Apple Intelligence and its own custom-designed modem
The iPhone SE 4 will have 8GB of RAM to support Apple Intelligence features and a multi-functional Action button replacing the mute switch. The iPhone SE 4 is expected to be the first smartphone equipped with Apple's own 5G chip, codenamed Centauri. This modem handles 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS connectivity, significantly reducing Apple's component costs.
- 48MP Camera
Additionally, the new iPhone SE model will feature a 48MP rear camera and a 12MP TrueDepth front camera. The main camera is expected to have similar specifications to the iPhone 16, with Fusion technology for 2x zoom.
Although it's commonly referred to as the iPhone SE4, there have recently been rumors that Apple might name it the iPhone 16E.
The iPhone SE currently starts at $429, but the price of the new model is likely to increase slightly.
