Visual Intelligence is a new feature introduced by Apple at the iPhone 16 launch event. Essentially, users can press and hold Camera Control to activate a special mode within the Camera app.

Similar to Google Lens, the camera on the iPhone 16 can recognize objects in front of the lens, thereby providing information or prompting relevant actions.
In the introductory video , Apple demonstrates the capabilities of Visual Intelligence when scanning objects such as restaurants, event posters, and more.
Some operations in Visual Intelligence are integrated using Apple's modeling language. However, to provide even more information, Apple also collaborates with OpenAI and Google.
Visual Intelligence is expected to be released on the iPhone 16 later this year, possibly coinciding with the official release of iOS 18.2.
According to the release schedule, iOS 18.2 is the last major update of the year, so it's very likely that Visual Intelligence will also be released this year, unless Apple postpones it until 2025.
