The People's Committee of Quang Binh province has just issued Decision No. 3465/QD-UBND dated December 10, 2024, approving the non-project aid "Expanded communication campaign to raise awareness of safe migration and prevent illegal migration from Vietnam to Australia by sea" sponsored by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Vietnam.
With a non-refundable capital of 300 million VND and implemented until the end of June 2025. The project aims to prevent and stop illegal migration in general and illegal migration to Australia by boat in particular in the province; at the same time, raise awareness of safe migration for people in Quang Binh province, contributing to minimizing risks for people during the migration process.

Through the Project's activities, people in key areas will be informed about the Australian government's border protection policy, as well as understand the risks and consequences of illegal immigration and illegal migration.
People are also updated with basic knowledge and skills for safe and legal migration. Local officials are also enhanced in their capacity to communicate about safe and legal migration and prevention of illegal immigration and migration.
