Indonesia is set to test flying taxis in its new capital Nusantara in July, ahead of its Independence Day celebrations.
The flying taxis, which can carry five people, are being jointly developed by the Korea Aerospace Research Institute and Hyundai Motor Company. Preparations are being completed, said Bambang Susantono, head of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) Authority. The tests will be conducted at Samarinda Airport for a month, after the components are inspected and assembled. The flying taxis can carry five people. Indonesia, along with the United Arab Emirates, Slovakia and Japan, are the first countries in the world to test flying taxis.
