Speaking at the Saudi Arabia-Indonesia roundtable in Riyadh on October 19, Mr. Hasan emphasized that Saudi Arabia has always been an important trading partner for Indonesia. The two sides cooperate in many mutually beneficial areas, particularly infrastructure, energy, religion, banking, healthcare, as well as agriculture and oil and gas.
At the meeting, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), the Federation of Saudi Arabian Chambers of Commerce (FSC), and ACWA Power-PT Pertamina International EP signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of infrastructure and energy.
Trade turnover between Jakarta and Riyadh in the first eight months of 2023 reached US$3.80 billion. Of this, Indonesian exports to Saudi Arabia amounted to US$1.39 billion, while exports to Saudi Arabia totaled US$2.41 billion.
Indonesia is currently aiming to achieve its Golden Indonesia Vision 2045, focusing on infrastructure development across the country. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia is working towards its Saudi Arabia Vision 2030, which aims to build a dynamic and diversified economy .
Riyadh also pledged to cooperate with Indonesian entrepreneurs in establishing new joint ventures.
