In a statement on the conflict situation on the Israel-Lebanon border, Iran's mission to the United Nations warned Israel that armed groups it backs will intervene if Tel Aviv attacks Hezbollah in Lebanon.
"Iran considers Israel's propaganda about its intention to attack Lebanon to be just a psychological warfare, but if it launches a full-scale attack on Lebanon, a war of destruction will ensue," Iran's mission to the United Nations posted on social network X on June 29.
"All options, including the full participation of all Resistance Fronts, will be considered," the Iranian mission added, referring to Iran-backed armed groups in the Middle East. Israel has not yet commented on Iran's warning.
Israel and Hezbollah have clashed on the southern border of Lebanon almost daily since the outbreak of hostilities in the Gaza Strip. Tensions have escalated in recent days, with the Israeli military announcing last week that a plan to attack Lebanon had been approved.

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah threatened that "nowhere in Israel is safe" in the event of all-out war.
Hezbollah’s leader said that armed groups from Iran, Iraq, Syria, Yemen and many other countries in the Middle East have suggested sending tens of thousands of troops to support Hezbollah, but the group does not need help because it already has 100,000 members. Hezbollah could change its stance if a full-scale war with Israel breaks out. In a speech in 2017, Hezbollah’s leader said that fighters from Iran, Iraq, Yemen, Afghanistan and Pakistan are ready to “stand shoulder to shoulder” in a war with Israel.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said on June 26 that Israel is capable of sending Lebanon back to the Stone Age but does not want this to happen, emphasizing that Tel Aviv does not want war but will be ready for any scenario.
UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Martin Griffiths expressed concern that the conflict in Lebanon would lead to intervention from Syria, leading to consequences "beyond all predictions" and "as serious as the world".
Faced with the risk of the conflict escalating and spreading to Lebanon, the Canadian Chief of Staff confirmed that the country is planning to evacuate its citizens from this Middle Eastern country and called on allies to coordinate.
General Wayne Eyre, the Canadian military's chief of staff, revealed in an interview with CBC News that Ottawa is developing a series of emergency evacuation plans for citizens in Lebanon in the event of all-out war between Israel and Hezbollah. General Wayne Eyre added that the number of Canadians expected to be evacuated could be "around 20,000, based on figures from the 2006 operation." Eighteen years ago, the Canadian military worked with its allies to evacuate about 15,000 people from the war zone, the majority of whom were Canadian citizens. According to the Canadian government's website, there are 40,000-75,000 Canadians living in Lebanon.
Meanwhile, the US Embassy in Beirut on June 27 advised US citizens to reconsider all travel plans to Lebanon, warning of a complex and volatile security situation.
US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby did not comment on information about the evacuation plan, but affirmed that the US government is monitoring threats and "has adjusted forces and procedures to protect citizens".
In connection with the conflict in the Gaza Strip, the International Criminal Court (ICC) has postponed its decision to issue arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Galant.
The delay came after Britain filed a temporary stay of proceedings with the court on June 10, The Jerusalem Post reported. The ICC accepted Britain's request and also allowed other countries to comment.
“In order to limit the impact of this procedure on the expeditiousness of the current stage of the proceedings, the Chamber in this decision indicates that any such request under Rule 103(1) of the Rules must also be received by 12 July 2024,” the ICC announced.
On May 20, ICC prosecutor Ahmad Khan requested arrest warrants for Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Galant, who the ICC said could be held responsible for war crimes committed by the IDF during the fighting in the Gaza Strip and crimes against humanity.
