Facing the Myanmar women's team with the advantage of physical strength and difficult playing style, Huynh Nhu and her teammates encountered many difficulties. However, the number 9 striker of the Vietnamese women's team still made the opponent struggle to block the attacks and together with her teammates won convincingly with a score of 3-1.
The match between the Vietnamese women's team and Myanmar took place on the afternoon of May 6 at the RCAF stadium. The ball rolled at 4 p.m. when the weather in Phnom Penh was very hot, making it difficult for the Vietnamese girls to control the game and launch attacks.
Not only facing weather obstacles, Huynh Nhu had to face a fierce defense of the Myanmar women's team. Every time striker number 9 got the ball, their players immediately approached and even violently attacked the ball to stop it.
In the 10th minute, from a pass from Tuyet Dung on the left wing, Huynh Nhu controlled and finished neatly to open the score for the Vietnamese women's team.
This is also the first goal of player number 9 at SEA Games 32.
Huynh Nhu celebrates her goal after her efforts to penetrate Myanmar's defense in the 10th minute. In the recent match against the Malaysian women's team, her goal was denied when the referee determined that Vu Thi Hoa had committed a foul in the previous situation.
After conceding a goal, the Myanmar women's team with their stamina made it very difficult for the Vietnamese women's team to stop attacks from both wings. In the final minutes of the first half, Myanmar rose up and scored an equalizer 1-1, bringing the match back to the starting line.
After the equalizer, Myanmar started to play more tightly and aggressively. Every time Huynh Nhu had the ball, Myanmar players rushed in to block, even committing fouls to prevent the Vietnamese team from attacking.
In the second half, the Vietnamese women's team encountered many difficulties in the ball deployment from the two wings of Hoang Thi Loan and Tuyet Dung.
Most of the attacks from the two wings of the Vietnamese women's team were blocked from the middle of the field.
In the following minutes, coach Mai Duc Chung began to make adjustments to the players and the playing style, so the attacks of the red shirt players began to shine.
In the 65th minute, the Vietnamese team made two substitutions when Thuy Trang and Thanh Nha were brought in to replace Bich Thuy and Duong Thi Van.
With agility when entering the field, Thanh Nha took advantage of goalkeeper Mya Mya Nyein's mistake to increase the score to 2-1.
Thanh Nha and her teammates celebrate their goal after their efforts in the harsh, hot weather of Phnom Penh. This was not an easy match for Coach Mai Duc Chung's players as they had to face an opponent with an extremely difficult playing style.
In the final minutes of the match, Thuy Trang made a delicate shot to help the Vietnamese women's team win 3-1 to continue to lead Group A in the women's football event of the 32nd SEA Games.
