On August 23-24, the Steering Committee for the Lao Cai Provincial Defense Zone Exercise directed Van Ban district to organize the 2024 defense zone exercise with the theme: "Moving the armed forces of Van Ban district into combat readiness states, moving the locality into defense states; organizing preparations and practicing defense operations". This is the last locality in the province to organize an exercise in this term.
Attending and directing the exercise were comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Defense Area Exercise Steering Committee; Colonel Pham Hung Hung, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command, Permanent Deputy Head of the Provincial Defense Area Exercise Steering Committee.
After having the plan of the Provincial Defense Area Exercise Steering Committee, the Military, Police and departments, branches and unions of Van Ban district have done a good job of advising the District Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee to lead, direct and implement all preparations for the exercise.
Thanks to a thorough understanding of the tasks and good preparation work such as planning, preparing the training ground, facilities, organizing training, etc., the participating forces practiced the drill as intended; during the drill, they had a high sense of responsibility, understood the tasks of each position, and demonstrated flexibility in handling situations.
Practice handling situation A2 quickly, neatly, accurately, and sufficiently deterrent to extremists and reactionaries. Practice mobilizing technical means of the national economy to supplement military units to ensure proper procedures, sufficient quantity, quality, speed, neatness, and accuracy. Close coordination between forces, unified command, clearly demonstrating each stage of combat, high combat efficiency.
Comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Defense Zone Exercise Steering Committee, assessed that the defense zone exercise of Van Ban district had successfully completed the assigned tasks, ensuring absolute safety for people and weapons and equipment. Through the exercise, the capacity, leadership, direction and operation of local Party committees and authorities were improved; the capacity to command and organize the implementation of the task of building and consolidating national defense - security, and defense zone operations; the ability to coordinate and cooperate among forces in handling and resolving possible defense - security situations. At the same time, this is the basis for the Party committees, authorities, sectors and armed forces of Van Ban district to review, supplement and gradually complete the district's defense combat determination, Plan B of the sectors; ready to meet the requirements of defense zone operations when the locality enters a state of national defense emergency and wartime.
On this occasion, the People's Committee of Van Ban district awarded Certificates of Merit to 20 collectives and 135 individuals with outstanding achievements in the Van Ban district defense area exercise in 2024.
