Tri Ton district celebrates Chol Chnam Thmay at 2 Khmer Theravada pagodas

On April 4, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tri Ton District Nguyen Van Be Tam led a delegation of the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to visit and extend greetings on the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay New Year to the Khmer ethnic minority people at Se Ray Ong Chum Pagoda (Ong Pagoda, Ba Chuc Town) and Onh Don Thlcau Pagoda (Soc Tuc Pagoda, Le Tri Commune). The delegation was accompanied by leaders of Ba Chuc Town and Le Tri Commune.

The delegation expressed their joy and excitement at the development of the village; acknowledged the positive contributions of the Khmer ethnic minority people in socio-economic development, building cultural life and new rural areas in the locality. On the occasion of Chol Chnam Thmay 2025, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tri Ton District Nguyen Van Be Tam wished all monks, nuns and Khmer ethnic minority people a happy, joyful and safe new year.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Tri Ton district hopes that you will continue to mobilize people to agree and join hands with the local government to successfully implement ethnic programs and policies, especially the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development for Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas for the 2021-2030 period, and the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses by 2025. At the same time, mobilize people to preserve and promote the traditions and cultural identity of the nation, well implement the policies and guidelines of the Party and State, maintain security and order, strengthen the great national unity bloc; actively work in production, encourage children to study for a better future.

The representative of the abbot of the two pagodas expressed his gratitude for the attention and care of the Party and State to the ethnic people. Through that, he promised to continue to propagate and encourage people to live a "good life, good religion", contributing to the local development.
