On October 22, Thuy Nguyen district, Hai Phong city solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the traditional day "Thuy Nguyen uprising" (October 25, 1948 - October 25, 2023) and received the First Class Independence Medal.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Tien Chau - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee, congratulated the Party Committee, government and people of Thuy Nguyen district. At the same time, he affirmed that the task of building and developing Thuy Nguyen district into a city directly under Hai Phong City before 2025 is very important, with many difficulties and challenges, but also an honor and great opportunity for the development of the locality.
In the coming time, the Party Committee and the Hai Phong City government will continue to direct and focus resources to promote urban construction and development, forming new modern urban areas as well as other industrial, urban and service development projects in Thuy Nguyen district.

According to information from the People's Committee of Thuy Nguyen district, through the wars to protect the Fatherland, the locality has 5,010 martyrs, 2,593 wounded and sick soldiers and 387 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers. With outstanding achievements, 8 individuals, 19 communes and Thuy Nguyen district were awarded the title "Hero of the People's Armed Forces".
In recognition of their great contributions to the cause of national liberation, the Party and State have awarded the Party Committee, government and people of Thuy Nguyen district with more than 20,400 Orders and Medals of various types. Of these, there are 25 Independence Medals.
Continuing that heroic tradition, taking advantage of the support, assistance and assistance of the Central Government and Hai Phong City, in recent years, Thuy Nguyen district's economy has developed strongly and achieved many important results.
In the past 10 years, from 2013 to 2023, the production value of all sectors of Thuy Nguyen district has always exceeded the set targets and plans and remained high, reaching an average of 15.6% per year. The production value of the industrial - construction and service sectors currently accounts for 93.2% of the local economic structure. In Thuy Nguyen district, there is currently 1 economic zone, 5 industrial zones and clusters, 3 industrial points and many craft villages, industry - construction.
Implementing Resolution No. 45 of the Politburo on the construction and development of Hai Phong City to 2030, with a vision to 2045, Hai Phong City identified Thuy Nguyen district as one of three breakthrough directions in urban space, the administrative, political, commercial, financial, banking, and urban center of the Port City.
Resolution No. 22/NQ-HDND of the 16th Hai Phong City People's Council clearly defines the goal: Before 2025, Thuy Nguyen district will meet the criteria of a type III urban area; complete the criteria of a type II urban area before 2035 .
