Lac Thuy district prioritizes resources for industrial and handicraft development

Industrial and handicraft development continues to be the leading sector in the socio -economic development of Lac Thuy district, in the direction of serving agriculture and rural areas, creating jobs for workers, contributing to growth and economic restructuring. Enterprises actively invest in technological innovation, pay attention to building brands to increase competitiveness and export. In 2024, the district's industrial and handicraft production value will reach VND 3,989,602 billion, an increase of 123.3% compared to 2021, accounting for 38.4% of the economic structure. The average annual growth rate is 19.75%/year.

From 2021 to now, the district has attracted 10 investors, with a total investment of VND 2,449.5 billion. Currently, 1 investor is in operation, 9 investors are completing investment procedures and building factories. There are 5 industrial clusters (ICs) in the area, with a total planning area of ​​282.25 hectares, attracting 19 investors to the ICs, the occupancy rate of the ICs is 40.34%. The total capital for infrastructure investment in the ICs is VND 1,069.78 billion, of which, the state budget capital is VND 115.04 billion; infrastructure investor capital is VND 900 billion; secondary investor capital advances for site clearance is VND 48.72 billion; enterprises invest in the power system is VND 6.03 billion.

Industrial production activities attract many economic sectors to participate, accelerating the process of industrial - construction restructuring, shifting strongly to the production of products that are the strengths of the locality. Many technical advances in industry - handicrafts are transferred to enterprises, cooperatives, production facilities through programs, projects and annual science and technology career capital of the locality, contributing to improving the quality and design of products, meeting the needs of consumers.

With the goal of developing industry to become the driving force of the economy, with high, sustainable and effective growth rates, as a driving force to promote the development of other economic sectors, the district plans to increase funding sources to implement support, compensation, site clearance; establish master plans, detailed plans, investment promotion, trade promotion of industrial parks; encourage investors to advance site clearance money to pay land rent for the project.

Regularly provide information to investors about potential, opportunities, environment, investment procedures, and legal documents on the district's electronic information portal. Support and facilitate businesses and infrastructure investors to organize investment promotion campaigns. Strengthen dialogue between the government and businesses; promote the effectiveness of e-government; review and propose amendments and supplements to regulations and processes for handling administrative procedures, minimizing the time for handling administrative procedures compared to regulations. Build a team of cadres, civil servants, and public employees with a professional and friendly working style, change their thinking and actions from management to service, accompany and support businesses in developing production and business, creating an open cooperative environment with investors. Strengthen investment promotion, advertising, introducing and finding new markets for the district's products through supply-demand connections, trade promotion fairs, product introduction exhibitions, etc.

Ms. Hoang Thi Thu Hang, Vice Chairman of Lac Thuy District People's Committee, said: In the coming time, the district will prioritize attracting industries that apply advanced, modern, and environmentally friendly production lines. Create favorable conditions for local enterprises, especially small and medium enterprises, to access financial and credit sources to invest in expanding scale and applying science and technology in production. Effectively use state budget capital, take advantage of targeted support capital sources, loan capital sources, and industrial promotion funds to support programs, improve product competitiveness, vocational training, and improve business management capacity. Encourage and support enterprises, cooperatives, households, and individuals to form joint ventures and associations to call for and attract investment in developing industry and handicrafts; maintain and expand traditional industries in the area.
