In order to contribute to preserving the traditional culture of ethnic groups in the area, recently, many schools have had good practices, contributingto educating students about the awareness of preserving cultural beauty.

For a long time, Krong Bong Ethnic Boarding School - Secondary School has maintained the tradition of students wearing traditional brocade costumes in class as well as in extracurricular activities.

In addition, the school also focuses on organizing activities such as: competitions in making typical dishes of ethnic groups, organizing games, performing arts competitions... From the 2013-2014 school year up to now, the school has twice been coordinated by the Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism with the Department of Culture and Information of Krong Bong district to open classes to teach gong performance and traditional dances of ethnic groups to students. Outstanding students are selected by the school to continue teaching others.

Ms. Lang Thi Hoa, Vice Principal of the school, said: “In the 2024-2025 school year, the school has 150 students from ethnic groups such as M'nong, Ede, H'Mong, Muong, Thai, Tay, Co Ho, Kinh. In addition to teaching knowledge and life skills, the school also pays great attention to preserving the traditional beauty of ethnic groups in integrated lessons, experiential activities, field trips, etc. In recent years, students have performed gongs, Kram gongs, and traditional dances to participate in and win prizes at competitions.”

Cu Pui Secondary School and Cu Pui 1 Primary School regularly invite artisans to teach students how to play bronze gongs, Kram gongs and traditional dances; many students at Yang Mao Secondary School receive financial support from volunteer groups to buy musical instruments, and invite artisans to open classes to perform traditional musical instruments.

Since then, students’ awareness of preserving and conserving traditional culture has been significantly raised. Some students, when returning to their villages, have taken the opportunity to visit artisans’ houses to learn more about gong performance and actively participate in cultural activities held in their villages. In addition, during extracurricular activities, schools regularly organize cultural activities, traditional arts, and traditional costume competitions.

In particular, Cu Pui Secondary School mobilized social resources to purchase sets of bronze gongs and Kram gongs so that students could have musical instruments to practice regularly. The school currently has two gong teams in different classes; students from the older class teach students from the younger class.

The movement of students wearing their ethnic traditional costumes has become a widespread movement in schools in Krong Bong district. At Cu Pui Kindergarten, the students are mainly M'nong and Ede people, 100% of parents agree to buy brocade dresses for their children. Or at Yang Mao Primary School, this school year there are 515 students, of which 498 are M'nong and Ede people. Thanks to good propaganda and mobilization work, and the parents' agreement and response, up to now, over 90% of M'nong students have brocade dresses, which they wear on Monday mornings.

This is a meaningful work, contributing to preserving the traditional cultural beauty of the ethnic groups in the area.”
