Bac Ha District Youth Union won the Lao Cai Province Youth Union Cadre Football Tournament

The tournament brings together union officials who are passionate about football.

The Lao Cai Provincial Youth Union Football Tournament kicked off on the morning of April 20 with the participation of 135 players from 9 district, town and city youth unions. The teams were divided into 2 groups of 7 players, playing a round-robin within the group to select the 2 best teams to advance to the next round.

The Organizing Committee awarded souvenir flags to the participating teams.

The tournament is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2024), the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024); contributing to promoting the movement of physical training and sports in general and football in particular, to improve the health of union officials as well as union members and youth of units in the province.

On the first day of competition, although the weather was not very favorable when Khanh Yen town had strong Lao wind blowing, the weather was dry and hot, but with the spirit of youth, the players competed fiercely right after the starting whistle sounded. The players and fans lived in a vibrant sports atmosphere with beautiful, aggressive moves and well-coordinated passes.

Entering the second day of competition (April 21), after a night of showers, the weather in the center of Van Ban district cooled down significantly, favorable for outdoor sports such as football. The players of the teams excitedly entered the competition to determine the third, fourth, first and second places. The further into the round, the better the players of the teams played.

The tournament is an exchange and solidarity between union officials in the province.

The final match between Bac Ha District Youth Union and Bat Xat District Youth Union left a lasting impression on the audience. With a fierce spirit to compete for the title, the boys from the two mountainous districts showed their football skills as well as their love for the king of sports when they continuously had beautiful, attractive and surprising shots.

After more than 40 minutes of competition, the Bac Ha District Youth Union team excellently won the championship. Bac Ha is also the first team to win the Lao Cai Provincial Youth Union Football Tournament twice since it was organized in 2018 (first time in 2019).

Player Tran Thai Duong, Bat Xat District Youth Union team won the title of “Best Player” and said: The tournament is a meaningful sports playground, creating opportunities for players to exchange, learn and satisfy their passion for football. During the competition, I always tried my best to contribute beautiful plays to the tournament with the spirit of “fairplay”.

Player Giang Ngoc Tuan, Bac Ha District Youth Union team said: To prepare for the tournament, the team gathered very early and organized concentrated training; the members tried their best to compete and achieve the best results.

According to the Organizing Committee, the Lao Cai Provincial Youth Union Football Tournament was a great success, leaving many impressions on the teams, players and fans.

Comrade Nguyen Hai Dang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Union of Lao Cai province said: The tournament is a healthy playground, thereby encouraging the movement of physical training and sports among union members and young people. At the same time, it is an opportunity for union officials to exchange, learn, and continue to build solidarity among young people. This year is the first time the tournament is held in the district, we plan to organize the tournament in rotation in localities in the province.

Thus, after 2 days of exciting competition, with 12 matches, the Lao Cai Provincial Youth Union Football Tournament was a great success with the rankings awarded to the teams. In which, the first prize was awarded to the Bac Ha District Youth Union team; the second prize was awarded to the Bat Xat District Youth Union team; the Van Ban District Youth Union team and the Muong Khuong District Youth Union team shared the third prize.

In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded the titles of "Best Player", "Top Scorer", "Best Goalkeeper" to individuals.
