Hot weather, prolonged drought, and less rainfall than previous years have caused the Thien Tuong reservoir (Hong Linh town, Ha Tinh province) to dry up. This has caused some localities in Hong Linh town to experience local water shortages, affecting the supply of domestic water.

Faced with the risk of continued drought, with the attention of the province and the Party Committee and government of Hong Linh town, the Hong Linh town water supply branch (under Ha Tinh Water Supply Joint Stock Company) is urgently speeding up the progress of installing water pipes from Da Bac lake to the water plant in Bac Hong ward to provide domestic water for people.

To solve the shortage of domestic water for people, from September 9, the People's Committee of Hong Linh town temporarily used specialized vehicles of functional agencies to transport clean water from other places to villages, residential groups, and residential areas lacking water, to supply to people.

The People's Committee of Hong Linh town also requested the chairmen of the People's Committees of wards and communes to grasp the situation in the area. On the side of the Hong Linh town government, they will try to transport water to cultural houses, residential groups or residential areas in the area that lack water in the coming time.

On the same day, September 9, the Fatherland Front and political organizations at all levels in Hong Linh town also mobilized forces to go to residential groups to propagate and support people to go to the arranged areas to receive clean water.

During the day, right after specialized vehicles transported clean water to villages, residential groups, and residential areas, many people in Hong Linh town used items such as buckets, basins, plastic barrels, plastic cans, pots of all kinds... to store water and bring it home for use.

According to Ha Tinh Provincial Police, on the morning of September 9, the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Department of Ha Tinh Police mobilized 6 vehicles and 25 officers and soldiers of the Hong Linh Fire Fighting and Rescue Team to coordinate with local authorities to supply water to villages, hamlets, and residential groups in Duc Thuan Ward, Bac Hong Ward, Thuan Loc Commune... (Hong Linh Town).

Thien Tuong Reservoir has a surface area of ​​about ^100,000m2 , a length of nearly 700m, and a design capacity of about ^884,000m3 of natural water. This is the place that provides domestic water for Hong Linh town and some neighboring areas.

However, due to the recent heat and prolonged drought, the water level in the lake has dropped to a record low in the past 9 years. Currently, many areas in the lake have dried up, exposing the bottom. The lake bed is cracked horizontally and vertically, many locations have only mud left, and the water intake drain leading to the factory is exposed. It is forecasted that in the coming days if there is still no rain, the water source here will continue to be scarce.
