At the time of survey at 2:00 p.m. on January 25, 2025, the gold price on the trading floors of some companies was listed as follows:
Domestic gold prices continued to increase to their highest level in about 6 weeks, following the strong increase in the world.
Specifically, the price of SJC gold was listed by Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) at 86.8 million VND/tael, sold at 88.8 million VND/tael, stable compared to the end of yesterday. Yesterday, the price of gold bars increased by nearly a million VND.
The price of gold bars has remained high for many weeks. In just the past week, each tael of gold bar has increased by nearly 2 million VND. If calculated from the beginning of the year until now, the price of SJC gold bars has increased by nearly 5 million VND.
In the market, banks have entered the extended Lunar New Year holiday. Gold prices are traded and listed by some gold companies with wide buying and selling ranges of up to 2 million VND/tael when prices fluctuate strongly.
PNJ Company sells gold bars at the same price as SJC Company; Mi Hong sells at a lower price, around 88.5 million VND/tael. Bao Tin Minh Chau Company pushes the selling price of SJC gold bars closer to the 89 million VND/tael mark, up to 88.9 million VND/tael.
Meanwhile, the price of gold rings and jewelry of all kinds also continued to remain at a high level. SJC Company traded gold rings of type 1, 2, and 5 only at 86.3 million VND/tael, sold at 88 million VND/tael, stable compared to yesterday. If buying SJC gold bars of type 0.5 only, the price is higher at 88.1 million VND/tael.

On the international market, gold is trading around 2,780 USD/ounce, up 28 USD compared to before. Converted at the exchange rate excluding taxes and fees, the world gold price is equivalent to 85 million VND/tael.
Gold prices continued to rise sharply amid a weakening US dollar, following US President Donald Trump’s statement on lowering interest rates. The market reacted immediately to Mr. Trump’s policies.
Speaking at the World Economic Forum, Donald Trump stressed his commitment to reversing inflation and announced plans to push for immediate interest rate cuts. He also called on other countries to adopt similar measures to deal with global economic challenges.
President Trump previously announced tariffs on imports from Canada, Mexico, China and the European Union. The policy is expected to be announced on February 1. The uncertainty about future policies has also caused investors to flock to safe-haven assets such as gold to hedge against market volatility.
Meanwhile, Jim Wyckoff, senior analyst at Kitco, said the market was somewhat calmed overnight after Trump appeared to soften his stance on China, saying in an interview with Fox News that he “would prefer” not to resort to tariffs.
