Huong Hoa is ready for the peak summer tourist season

Head of the Department of Culture, Science and Information of Huong Hoa district, Ho Ngoc Tinh, said that in recent years, Huong Hoa district has welcomed over 170,000 visitors per year for sightseeing and relaxation. Along with the cool climate, the district has attractive eco-tourism spots such as Brai Cave, Voi Mep Cave, Ta Puong Waterfall, Chenh Venh Waterfall, Ta Du Waterfall, Bac Huong Hoa Nature Reserve, Sa Mu Pass... attracting tourists to explore the wild and amazing nature.

Recently, the Huong Hoa District Tourism Association held its first congress with the participation of more than 50 members, organizations and individuals working in tourism and selling coffee, a typical OCOP product of Huong Hoa District.

The future tourism exploitation orientation is determined to develop tours and routes connecting tourism to explore beautiful caves and waterfalls in Huong Lap and Huong Viet communes; community cultural experience tourism, eco-tourism in Huong Phung and Huong Son communes; homestay and farmstay resort tourism in Huong Tan and Huong Linh communes, Khe Sanh town; invest in check-in points and beautiful scenery in communes and towns along National Highway 9...

To promote tourism development, the district has recently supported investment in a number of items and provided training on the operation of the Chenh Venh Village Community Tourism Group, Huong Phung Commune, with tourism products such as bathing at Chenh Venh waterfall; camping and cloud hunting at Sa Muoi hill; visiting the bamboo forest and FSC-certified community forest; experiencing cuisine and community culture associated with the new rice festival in the Ro Ve residential area.

To welcome the summer tourist season of 2025, Huong Hoa district invested in supporting food preservation booths, toilets, and regulations for exploiting the Ta Puong waterfall tourist site in Huong Viet commune. In addition, it organized training courses on professional skills, tourist reception skills and tourist exploitation; coordinated with the management board of historical and cultural relics in the area to connect and diversify tourism products to serve tourists coming to visit, relax, and have fun during the peak summer tourist season.

Besides the advantage of majestic and charming mountains with mysterious stalactite caves, beautiful and pristine waterfalls, cool and mild climate, Huong Hoa district also has a system of revolutionary historical relics such as Lao Bao Prison, Lang Vay Base, Ta Con Airport, Road 9 - Khe Sanh associated with resounding feats that the whole world knows and admires, which have great value for developing nostalgic, retrospective, historical research tourism...

DMZ tour, “Reminiscence of the old battlefield and comrades” tour associated with the victory highlight of Route 9 - Khe Sanh is a unique tourism product that has attracted a large number of tourists to Khe Sanh, Huong Hoa for many years. On the historic days of April or the grateful July, on weekends, accommodation in Khe Sanh, Huong Hoa is often fully booked, with tourists booking months in advance.

Currently, tourism in Huong Hoa in particular and the Western region of Quang Tri in general is having great appeal because of its wildness, amazing nature, and friendly people. Especially in the middle of the Central region's hot Lao summer days, the year-round cool climate of Khe Sanh becomes the choice to attract tourists here. Of course, there is still much to do in planning and attracting, calling for investment for Huong Hoa tourism to reach out to the Central region and Vietnam.

“Huong Hoa district has piloted tourism models on agricultural land, aquaculture land, and under forest canopy, creating conditions for businesses and people to both produce and do tourism. At the same time, there are policies to support and encourage the mobilization of all investment resources in tourism services, exploiting tourist areas and spots, improving the quality of tourism products, and meeting the increasing demand for tourism services of tourists.

“Strengthening tourism promotion and development, promoting tourism to become a key economic sector. We believe that Huong Hoa tourism will attract tourists to eat, stay, create more jobs and income for local people,” Mr. Tinh added.
