(CLO) On the afternoon of October 30, the Press Department (Ministry of Information and Communications) organized a training session to guide press agencies in applying the Index and using software to measure and evaluate the level of maturity of digital transformation of the press in 2024.
The training was attended by 110 delegates who are technology specialists at press agencies. The training session aims to implement Decision No. 1827/QD-BTTTT dated October 24, 2024 replacing Decision No. 951/QD-BTTTT dated June 2, 2023 on the Index to assess and measure the maturity level of digital transformation in journalism.
Speaking at the opening session of the training session, Ms. Dang Thi Phuong Thao - Deputy Director of the Press Department (Ministry of Information and Communications) said: Through this training session, technology specialists at press agencies will access new information on the application of the Index and use of software to measure and evaluate the level of maturity of digital transformation of press in 2024.

Each attending officer will see to what extent their press agency is applying technology, and see themselves in it. Digital transformation is not a common problem for all press agencies, but each press agency will find its own direction, as long as it reaches more readers. Reaching your customers, bringing in loyal readers, having more press economic growth... that is also the goal that the training course aims for.
Ms. Dang Thi Phuong Thao emphasized: "It is a clear fact that when a press agency actively applies technology and digital transformation, the press economy of that press agency will be raised. In which, the most obvious indicator when transforming digitally is increasing the number of readers and increasing advertising revenue. Digital transformation will bring double benefits to each press agency" .
Also at the training session, Ms. Dang Thi Phuong Thao introduced the models of 4 press agencies that have implemented well. The level of effectiveness of digital transformation work with each newsroom after the Press Department conducted a field survey. These are models that can be replicated in other press agencies.
The leader of the Press Department also emphasized that Vietnam Television will complete a comprehensive digital transformation, operate according to the digital agency model, thoroughly apply technology and use digital data in all management, direction, production, distribution and multi-platform business activities. At the training session, Ms. Hoang Thi Bich Hanh, Deputy Director of the National Digital Media Data Depository Center, concurrently the permanent member of the Press Digital Transformation Support Center (Press Department) guided press agencies in measuring and evaluating the level of maturity of press digital transformation in 2024, the implementation according to Decision No. 1827/QD-BTTTT dated October 24, 2024... In addition, the leaders of the Press Department also spent time discussing and clarifying the difficulties that press agencies are facing...
