Hungary and Slovakia win tickets to EURO 2024 finals

In the morning match of November 17, in Group G, the Hungarian team was very lucky to get a 2-2 draw in their away match against Bulgaria.

Hungary started well with Martin Adam opening the scoring in the 10th minute but then let the home team take a 2-1 lead with goals from Spas Delev and Kiril Despodov.

It was not until the 90+7 minute that Hungary equalized 2-2 after an own goal by Alex Petkov of Bulgaria.

This result forced Hungary to go through a second consecutive draw. However, getting a point in this match is also enough for coach Marco Rossi and his team to qualify for the EURO 2024 finals in Germany.

After 7 matches, Hungary has won 15 points, 4 points more than the third-placed team Montenegro, while there is only one more match left until the EURO 2024 qualifiers end.

The remaining official ticket representing Group G to attend the biggest football festival in Europe will now be the competition between the Serbia and Montenegro teams.

Serbia is currently in the lead with 13 points, two more than Montenegro.

In the final match of the two teams, Serbia will play at home to welcome Bulgaria, while Montenegro will have to visit Hungary in the hope of a miracle happening.

Along with Hungary, the Slovakian team has also officially qualified for the EURO 2024 finals after a 4-2 victory in the match against Iceland at home.

Juraj Kucka, Ondrej Duda and Lukas Haraslin (double) scored together to help Slovakia come back from behind to lose the opening goal to Iceland.

The result made Luxembourg's 4-1 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina meaningless.

After 9 matches, Slovakia has 19 points, 4 points more than Luxembourg while there is only one qualifying match left.

Although not officially qualified, Luxembourg still has a chance to participate in Germany to attend EURO 2024 through the play-off round for teams with good rankings in the UEFA Nations League.

Thus, after the match on the morning of November 17, EURO 2024 has officially determined the 11 participating teams including host Germany, Spain, Scotland, France, Belgium, Turkey, Austria, England, Hungary, Slovakia and Portugal.

Cristiano Ronaldo leads the list of top scorers in EURO 2024 qualifiers

In the EURO 2024 qualifiers, Portugal continued to show impressive form with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Liechtenstein, thereby extending their winning streak to 9.

Cristiano Ronaldo was the one who broke the deadlock for Portugal in this match with the opening goal in the 47th minute, before Joao Cancelo sealed the result 2-0 just 10 minutes later.

With this goal, Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 865th career goal and he still has many opportunities to improve his record.

The goal against Liechtenstein also helped Ronaldo reach 128 goals in 204 matches for the Portuguese team.

In addition, CR7 has also risen to the top of the EURO 2024 qualifying round's top scorer list with 10 goals after 8 matches, equal to Romelu Lukaku and creating a safe distance from other players such as Harry Kane, Rasmus Hojlund and Scott McTominay (all 7 goals).

According to statistics, Ronaldo has scored 10 goals for the Portuguese national team since the beginning of 2023, thereby reaching the milestone of 10 goals or more in a year for the sixth time while wearing the national team shirt.

Notably, since turning 30, Ronaldo's national team achievements are 76 goals, 12 assists after 86 matches.

If counting both club and national team levels, Cristiano Ronaldo reached 46 goals in 2023, only behind Harry Kane (47 goals) and Erling Haaland (48 goals), to continue to heat up the race for "Player with the most goals of the year".

With his current form, Ronaldo has every chance to surpass his two competitors before 2023 officially ends.
