Hung Yen: 63 redundant public offices after rearranging commune-level administrative units

According to the report of the Provincial People's Committee, after review, the total number of headquarters of 10 district-level administrative units (DAUs) and 139 commune-level DAUs before the rearrangement was 1,889 headquarters. Of which, there were 1,021 administrative headquarters; 58 commune police headquarters; 810 cultural houses, halls, and sports grounds.

The total number of public buildings that will continue to be used is 1,804. The total number of surplus public buildings is 63.

The whole province has reviewed and temporarily suspended the approval of investment policies and public investment projects at commune-level administrative units that are being reorganized. The Provincial People's Committee requested the renovation, repair, upgrading and expansion of offices and working headquarters of agencies and organizations in accordance with actual needs and in accordance with the provisions of law.

The Provincial People's Committee will develop a plan to continue arranging and using surplus headquarters, transferring them to other agencies and units for use or organizing asset auctions in accordance with regulations, avoiding loss or waste, ensuring that within 3 years the arrangement and handling of headquarters will be completed in accordance with regulations. In particular, for surplus headquarters and public service facilities, priority will be given to converting their functions to medical and educational facilities, and using them for other local public purposes, such as libraries, parks, cultural and sports facilities, etc.
