Huawei also launched a series of products and solutions as well as the world's first telecommunications platform to welcome the era of 5.5G commercialization from 2024.
Speaking at MWC 2024, Li Peng, Senior Vice President and President of Huawei ICT Business & Services Group, said: “We are accelerating towards an intelligent world. As network demands continue to increase, 5.5G is an important step towards this world. 5.5G is expected to be commercially deployed in 2024. So let’s build the network for future practical applications now, accelerating the progress towards the intelligent world.”
Li Peng, Senior Vice President and President of Huawei ICT Business & Services Group, called on the industry to embrace 5.5G for a more prosperous intelligent world.
Mr. Li Peng shared at the conference.
In China, the Middle East and Europe, leading operators have conducted a series of 5.5G network application trials for individual users, families, transportation systems and stadiums. Furthermore, 10GB smart cities powered by 5.5G are also emerging more and more around the world.
Drawing on the success of the 5G commercialization process that took place in just 5 years, Mr. Li Peng called on the entire industry to embrace 5.5G and build a solid ICT foundation, paving the way towards a smarter, more prosperous world.
Redefining the flow of information: Generative AI (GenAI) has enabled new ways of connecting things and new scenarios, such as virtual humans and smart cars. These new scenarios require better infrastructure, including new models for storage and computing across the cloud, edge, and devices.
It is estimated that AI-generated content will generate over 100 billion GB of data and drive an increase in data traffic of over 1,000 billion GB. Huawei predicts that by 2026 alone, AI will generate over 250 billion images and 70 million videos, redefining how the world creates content.
In recent times, Huawei has accompanied network operators in commercial testing of 5.5G in more than 20 cities around the world.
In the Middle East, the six members of the Gulf Cooperation Council have reached a common consensus on the development of 5.5G, verifying 10Gbps speeds of 5.5G networks and the ability to create new services such as RedCap and passive IoT.
In Asia, three major carriers in China have deployed 5.5G in major cities for connecting people, devices, homes, vehicle systems and industries.
In Europe, operators in Finland have completed 5.5G technology verification on commercial networks, achieving peak speeds of over 10Gbps and passive IoT technology verification. In Germany, operators conducting trials on the 6GHz band have also achieved peak network speeds of 12Gbps using multi-carrier techniques.
Based on these experiences, at the “Advance Intelligence - Elevating Intelligence” product launch within the framework of MWC 2024, Huawei introduced a series of 5.5G, F5.5G and Net5 products and solutions.
This is the world's first model that provides intelligent applications based on different roles and scenarios, addressing the needs of multiple industries for flexible service provision, precise user experience assurance, and efficient O&M. It also helps operators maximize network value, empower employees, and improve user satisfaction to comprehensively enhance 5.5G network productivity.
In addition, Huawei also launched new intelligent digital solutions for 10 industries and a series of flagship products under the theme of "Leading Infrastructure to Accelerate Industrial Intelligence".
Huawei reaffirms its commitment to accompany customers around the world to take on challenges, explore and seize opportunities for development to 5.5G; as well as become a trusted partner in the process of intelligent digital transformation, building a prosperous industry ecosystem.
Huawei's vision is to build ubiquitous, efficient, collaborative, green, stable, and intelligent networks to deliver premium network experiences, further accelerate digital transformation, and advance to the intelligent world faster.
MWC Barcelona 2024 will be held from February 26 to 29 in Barcelona, Spain. At the event, Huawei will showcase its latest products and solutions at booth 1H50 in Fira Gran Via Hall 1.
With the commercial deployment of 5.5G networks in 2024, Huawei is working with global carriers and partners to advance network, cloud, and intelligence. Together, we will drive the 5G business and industry ecosystem to flourish, creating a new era of intelligent digital transformation.
