The revolutionary armed forces have been built to be lean, compact, strong, disciplined, elite, and modern, meeting the increasingly high requirements and tasks in the new situation, achieving great results in defending the Fatherland, with important contributions from the National Defense Academy - the leading trusted address of the Party and State in training strategic-level cadres, including senior cadres of the people's armed forces.
The Academy always seriously grasps and effectively implements the Party's guidelines, policies, and viewpoints, the State's policies and laws, the Central Military Commission, and the Ministry of National Defense; does a good job of strategic consulting on military, national defense, security, and army building; actively adjusts the content, programs, and training methods; strengthens the application of science and technology; focuses on research and practical learning; training has made many advances and the quality is increasingly high, contributing to improving the quality of the Party, State, and armed forces' cadres. Hostile, reactionary, and political opportunists are vigorously implementing the strategy of "peaceful evolution" with many insidious, sophisticated, and dangerous tricks, promoting the process of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the country, demanding "depoliticization" of the armed forces... The external and internal situation places increasingly high demands on the task of defending the Fatherland. Developing military art is not only to firmly defend the Fatherland from early on, from afar, and to defend the country when it is not yet in danger; more importantly, we must make the most of opportunities, turn challenges into opportunities, constantly consolidate national defense potential, and increase Vietnam's contribution to peace and stability in the region and the world. To achieve the requirements and tasks in the new period, the General Secretary and President requested the Academy to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the Party's guidelines and viewpoints on fundamental and comprehensive innovation of education and training associated with national defense in the new situation, contributing to improving the quality of cadres of the Party, State and armed forces in the new period.
