On November 12, the Houthi forces in Yemen announced that they had conducted two military operations lasting 8 hours against US naval ships in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea.
According to the Houthi spokesman, the first operation targeted a US aircraft carrier in the Arabian Sea with several missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The second operation was to launch missiles and UAVs at two US destroyers in the Red Sea.
However, the US Department of Defense announced that the Houthi attacks were unsuccessful. According to Pentagon spokesman Air Force Major General Patrick Ryder, two US warships were attacked by at least eight UAVs, five anti-ship ballistic missiles and three anti-ship cruise missiles.
* In Israel, on the same day, November 12, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu left open the possibility of attacking Iran's oil fields, in order to "paralyze the country's economy", if Tehran attacks Israel with ballistic missiles.
At the same time, Mr. Netanyahu affirmed that Israel can help Iran build a future with world-class education, advanced roads, hospitals and clean water.
* Also on November 12, Hezbollah said it had launched "quality missiles" at an air base near the Israeli city of Tel Aviv after Israel announced it had successfully intercepted drones fired from Lebanon.
Sirens sounded across central Israel and the military said it had successfully intercepted three projectiles fired from Lebanon, while flights were suspended at Ben Gurion International Airport.
Hours earlier, Hezbollah fired rockets at the northern Israeli city of Naharyia, killing two people, while the Israeli army announced continued airstrikes south of the Lebanese capital Beirut.
