Established in 2002, Dong Tam Fisheries Cooperative has continuously developed, increasing its total charter capital from 60 million VND initially to more than 60 billion VND today. The Cooperative currently has more than 10,000 members, operating mainly in the field of managing and exploiting clam resources on an area of ​​242.5 hectares of coastal alluvial land. With the motto of sustainable development associated with resource protection and ensuring member benefits, the Cooperative has built an effective fisheries exploitation model, creating many economic and social values.

In 2024, the cooperative achieved a clam output of 1.55 million kg, with a total revenue of more than 62.8 billion VND, far exceeding the set plan. Profit after financial obligations reached over 28.2 billion VND. The cooperative created jobs for more than 42,000 workers. In addition, the cooperative also contributed nearly 4.7 billion VND to the local budget.

Not only focusing on economic efficiency, Dong Tam Aquatic Cooperative also actively participates in social activities, supports education promotion programs, cares for families with preferential policies, and contributes to the construction of new rural areas. The Party, Trade Union and Youth Union organizations in the Cooperative operate effectively, are recognized by superiors, and are evaluated as having excellently completed their tasks.

The fact that Dong Tam Fisheries Cooperative was awarded the “Cooperative Star” Award in 2025 is not only a recognition of its impressive achievements but also demonstrates the role and great potential of the cooperative economy in the cause of national development. This is a clear demonstration of the spirit of solidarity, autonomy and creativity - the core values ​​that President Ho Chi Minh once affirmed when talking about cooperatives in the cause of building a prosperous and happy society.
