Tam Dao Mushroom Cooperative was established in 2009. At the beginning, the Cooperative focused on producing oyster mushrooms and lingzhi mushrooms. During the development process, Tam Dao Mushroom Cooperative has continuously researched and cultivated mushrooms of both economic and quality value.
Since its establishment and operation, the cooperative has continuously strived to overcome difficulties and challenges and develop. When it was first established, the cooperative faced many difficulties such as lack of capital, production equipment, and limited output markets.
On the other hand, the mushroom growing environment is mainly manual and small-scale, and the market mostly does not know the name of the cooperative, so in the first years, production and consumption of products encountered many difficulties.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director of Tam Dao Mushroom Cooperative said: “Overcoming the difficulties of the first years of establishment, the Cooperative proactively researched market demand, and mobilized resources to invest in equipment, machinery, apply science and technology, and learn from practical experiences in other places to focus on producing new products to meet consumer needs. The Cooperative has built raw material areas, invested in equipment and many assets to serve production and business.”
From 2019 to present, Tam Dao Mushroom Cooperative has successfully cultivated the Cordycep militaris mushroom strain. This is a type of cordyceps mushroom with high nutritional content, containing all the medicinal ingredients like cordyceps mushrooms that appear in nature.
The application of scientific and technical advances, high technology and in-depth research into mushroom cultivation has helped the cooperative succeed in large-scale cultivation with a yield of several tons of cordyceps mycelium each year, providing pharmaceutical and functional food processing factories with a large amount of safe and quality raw materials.
In recent years, Tam Dao Mushroom Cooperative has actively researched and deeply processed products from Cordyceps such as: Cordyceps cake, Cordyceps water, Cordyceps mixed tea, Cordyceps red tea, Cordyceps abalone granules, functional foods to support lung, liver, kidney function, Tam Dao Cordyceps kidney tonic pills, Nano Cordyceps milk... with a production process that is strictly controlled at each stage, raw materials are carefully selected to ensure the cultivation process as well as the finished product is safe for users.
In 2020, Tam Dao Cordyceps of Tam Dao Mushroom Cooperative was the first product of the province to be recognized by the People's Committee of Vinh Phuc province as a 3-star OCOP product; in 2022, the Tam Dao mushroom brand as well as Tam Dao Cordyceps were registered for trademark protection and recognized by the People's Committee of Vinh Phuc province as a tourist gift product.
By the end of 2022, Tam Dao Cordyceps products were certified as 4-star OCOP products along with 5 other products of the Cooperative certified as 3-star OCOP, and were also certified as the Golden Brand of Vietnam Agriculture; in 2024, the freeze-dried Tam Dao Cordyceps product set and Cordyceps honey of the Cooperative were certified as typical rural industrial products of the Northern region in 2024...
Currently, Tam Dao Mushroom Cooperative is developing an organic mulberry growing area to obtain fresh silkworm pupae as raw material for cultivating Cordyceps; producing silkworm cocoons to make silk. The Cooperative aims to increasingly diversify its products to meet the increasing demand of consumers. On that basis, Tam Dao Mushroom Cooperative has researched and expanded the mulberry raw material area in the provinces of Vinh Phuc, Tuyen Quang, Lao Cai, and Yen Bai.
From the mulberry raw material area, Tam Dao Mushroom Cooperative has had many products that have achieved OCOP certification and products from silk. In 2025, Tam Dao Mushroom Cooperative continued to produce 4 products: Nano Cordyceps, Nano Cordymilk Cordyceps (these 2 products are from Vinh Phuc provincial research project). Cordyceps Core Extract, Tam Dao Cordyceps Herbal Tea. The products of the Cooperative have been trusted and highly appreciated by customers.
By exploiting the strengths of the Internet, on the social networking platform, for many years now, Tam Dao Mushroom Cooperative has proactively developed channels to promote and introduce products through websites, e-commerce platforms, social networks, etc.
Up to now, the Cooperative has built and maintained 3 fanpages on the social networking platform Facebook, maintained 3 websites promoting products refined from Cordyceps sinensis, attracting thousands of followers and interactions.
The cooperative is continuing to expand its online distribution channels by cooperating with famous Youtuber and Tiktoker channels to spread and promote its products. Along with that, in 2024, Tam Dao Mushroom Cooperative has developed a plan to cooperate with businesses and units to expand its agents in the Central and Central Highlands regions.
Thanks to effective operations, in 2024, the cooperative's revenue reached nearly 1.9 billion VND, nearly 2 times higher than in 2022; operating stably and effectively, the cooperative created jobs for 32 members and workers with an average income of 5 - 8 million VND/person/month.
With the achievements in production and business, from 2011 to present, Tam Dao Mushroom Cooperative has been honored to receive many certificates of merit, certificates of merit, gold cups... from all levels and sectors. Most recently, the Cooperative is one of 100 typical cooperatives nationwide honored by the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance and awarded the "Cooperative Star 2025" award.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy shared: “The “Cooperative Star 2025” Award will be a driving force for Tam Dao Mushroom Cooperative to continue to develop, besides, it will help promote Vinh Phuc agricultural products, enhancing the brand value of the province's agricultural products.
With a unique circular agricultural model combining mulberry - silk - cordyceps, Tam Dao Mushroom Cooperative not only creates livelihoods for hundreds of farming households but also contributes to promoting the value chain of agricultural products with high scientific and technological content.
