On the morning of December 28, the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park (SHTP) and Ansys Software Pvt Ltd. (Ansys) signed a cooperation agreement to jointly develop the semiconductor industry in Vietnam. Accordingly, Ansys committed to providing academic teaching software tools and related training programs for universities in Ho Chi Minh City.
According to Ansys representative, Ho Chi Minh City has a young and talented workforce, universities in Ho Chi Minh City have strengths in science and technology, and have a desire to participate in the rapidly developing technical simulation industry in the region. Therefore, cooperation will help increase practical experience and learn how to use simulation software from advanced countries in the world.
Mr. Rafig Somani, Vice President of Ansys, Indian Ocean and South Asia, said that Ansys software family including RedHawk, Sherlock, HFSS, PowerArtist brings unique capabilities that can help electronics and semiconductor companies, researchers accelerate the process of designing, developing and innovating high-tech products. Currently, this software is used by many leading companies and universities around the world to improve the capabilities of high-tech products.
“I believe that the leading software provided by Ansys will help SHTP develop rapidly, becoming a high-tech center in the region. Ansys is fully committed to supporting SHTP in realizing its vision, providing high-quality human resources, supporting startups, thereby gradually developing the semiconductor technology industry in Vietnam,” said Mr. Rafig Somani at the event.
“The cooperation with Ansys will promote training and research activities in the field of simulation software. This program will create opportunities for students to access modern technology and the latest methods in engineering simulation, while accumulating practical experience in the high-tech field. In addition, the cooperation will greatly contribute to improving the operational capacity of the Electronics and Semiconductor Training Center (BSC), contributing to the development of the semiconductor industry in Ho Chi Minh City and contributing to the growth of the Vietnamese economy,” said Mr. Nguyen Anh Thi, Head of the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park.
Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Vo Van Hoan said that 2023 is the year that Vietnam has many exciting activities related to high technology such as: artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductor chips, digital transformation, smart cities... As early as 2021, the city has oriented the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park to become a place to train human resources and a center for innovation and creative development of the whole country.
Up to now, Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park has carried out many activities to realize the city's orientation goals such as establishing the Semiconductor Electronics Center; linking with schools and institutes to train human resources; creating mechanisms and policies to attract investors in the semiconductor industry...
"The orientation of Ho Chi Minh City is that all industrial parks must be transformed towards high technology, prioritizing research, development and investment in key areas. Currently, Ho Chi Minh City is the leading economic - scientific - technological and innovation center of the country. The city has many institutes - schools, a team of students, highly qualified human resources, the city has infrastructure and preferential policies, creating all favorable conditions to welcome investors in the semiconductor industry to Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park", Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Vo Van Hoan emphasized.
