Meeting to celebrate Vietnam Day of People with Disabilities

(CT) - On April 18, at the Cultural Center of Dong Hiep commune, Co Do district, the Association of People with Disabilities (PWD) of Can Tho city held a meeting to celebrate Vietnam PWD Day (April 18, 1998 - April 18, 2025).

People with disabilities in Co Do district received gifts and wheelchairs donated by benefactors.

With the theme of 2025 “Digital technology and accessibility with PWDs”, the meeting took place in a joyful and warm atmosphere. The City Association of PWDs emphasized the role of technology in supporting PWDs to conveniently access and quickly grasp information on socio -economic activities. Each organization of the Association of PWDs must be a “bridge”, supporting members to access and effectively apply digital technology, ensuring that all PWDs have equal opportunities in the digital space, contributing to creating an inclusive and civilized society. PWDs join hands to break down all barriers so that no one is left behind in the country’s digital transformation journey.

At the meeting, delegates listened to a congratulatory letter on Vietnam's Disabled Day from the Minister of Health ; listened to representatives of functional sectors communicate on skills to prevent and avoid fraud via cyberspace; basic content of the Law on Legal Aid...

On this occasion, PWDs participated in games, demonstrating the spirit of exchange, solidarity, attachment and encouragement, motivating each other to strive to overcome difficulties, rise up to remove barriers, confidently approach and integrate into the community. The City Association of PWDs mobilized benefactors to donate 20 gifts, worth 200,000 VND each, and 1 wheelchair, worth 4 million VND, to PWDs in difficult circumstances in Co Do district.
