Meeting to celebrate the 64th anniversary of the founding of the Southern Liberation Farmers' Association

Attending the event were Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Education Department Bui Van Han Em, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment Doan Van Danh, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee - Chairman of the People's Council of Mo Cay Bac District Tran Thi Sol, and representatives of district departments.

At the meeting, delegates watched a video reportage of the Ben Tre Farmers' Association - the pride of the homeland of Dong Khoi. Historically, before the great victory of the Dong Khoi movement, on December 20, 1960, implementing the Resolution of the 15th Conference of the Party Central Committee, the National Congress of Delegates of the South met at the Bac Tay Ninh base, declaring the establishment of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam. Under the leadership of the Party and the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam, on April 21, 1961, the Southern Farmers' Association was officially established, becoming an important member of the Front.

Right from the first days of its establishment, the association has clearly demonstrated its great political role, clearly defining the responsibility and noble mission of farmers in the cause of resistance war to save the country. The association has gathered, united, and mobilized millions of farmers to stand up and fight heroically for national independence and unification, demonstrating patriotism and steadfast revolutionary spirit.

In Ben Tre province, considered the cradle of the Dong Khoi movement, farmers demonstrated their indomitable spirit. Under the revolutionary flag, Ben Tre farmers contributed to building bases, sheltering cadres, protecting the revolutionary government, maintaining the local revolutionary movement and became the core force, accompanying the nation on all fronts.

Entering the period of innovation, the peasantry of the province continues to promote the tradition of patriotism, diligence, dynamism and creativity in production labor. Transforming the structure of crops and livestock, applying scientific and technological advances in production, building effective and modern agricultural models. Many farmers have become good farmers and businessmen, pioneers in rural economic development.

According to Chairman of the Provincial Farmers’ Association Nguyen Van Ban, the meeting aimed to review the glorious tradition with great contributions of the Southern Liberation Farmers’ Association and the peasant class in the resistance war against the US to save the country. Thereby, encouraging and motivating cadres, members, and farmers to strive to develop prosperous agriculture, wealthy farmers, and civilized and modern countryside.

On behalf of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Farmers' Association, Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association Nguyen Van Ban expressed his respect and deep gratitude to generations of Farmers' Association officials through the periods - those who have worked hard to cultivate, preserve and promote the glorious tradition of the Association over the past 64 years.

The Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association called on all cadres and members of the Farmers' Association to strengthen propaganda and extensive mobilization work among cadres, members and the masses, creating high consensus and unity with the correct policies of the Party and the State. Together, we will strengthen the great national unity bloc, so that each person, especially the peasant class, becomes an active, proactive and creative factor in the innovation and integration process.

On this occasion, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Farmers' Association presented the Decision to admit 2 honorary members of the Ben Tre Provincial Farmers' Association: Dr. - National Physician Huynh Ky Tran - Director of the Institute of High-Technology Training Technology - Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Chemistry Association - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Thorakao Cosmetics; Dr. - CEO Dang Duc Thanh - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Green+ Group Joint Stock Company.

* On the same morning, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Farmers' Association coordinated with the Farmers' Association of Mo Cay Bac district and the locality to organize the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a "Farmer's House of Gratitude" for the household of Ms. Huynh Thi Nam, Tai Dai hamlet, Khanh Thanh Tan commune, a farmer member with difficult circumstances.

The house is worth 60 million VND, of which the Provincial Farmers' Association supported 30 million VND, the Mo Cay Bac District Farmers' Association supported 15 million VND, and the Khanh Thanh Tan Commune Farmers' Association supported 15 million VND. This is an activity to implement the emulation movement "Join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses by 2025". At the same time, the Provincial Farmers' Association organized for delegates to return to the source and visit the Saigon - Gia Dinh Regional Party Committee Base Relic (Tan Phu Tay Commune, Mo Cay Bac District).
