Attending the bridge completion ceremony were: Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, Minister of Finance ; Ms. Ho Thi Hoang Yen, Secretary of the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Tran Ngoc Tam, Chairman of the Ben Tre Provincial People's Committee; and Mr. Nguyen Van Vinh, Chairman of the Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee. The bridge completion ceremony was held in conjunction with the groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies of key national projects and major construction projects to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

According to the My Thuan Project Management Board, in recent times, the investor, along with the consulting and supervision unit and contractors, have concentrated manpower, machinery and equipment, organized construction in "3 shifts, 4 teams," and "braved the sun and rain" to strive to complete the Rach Mieu 2 bridge project.

After nearly 25 months of construction, the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge completion ceremony is a significant milestone in the project's progress, laying the groundwork for its completion and commissioning as planned.

According to the plan, the project was scheduled to be completed in January 2026. However, after a period of strenuous effort, the My Thuan Project Management Board, along with the construction contractor, supervisory consultant, and participating units, have completed the work ahead of the deadlines set by the Prime Minister .

Accordingly, it is expected that after the Rach Mieu 2 bridge completion ceremony, the entire project will be completed and put into operation in August 2025 (approximately 3 months ahead of the Prime Minister's directive). The entire project will be completed approximately 6 months ahead of the contract schedule.
According to the My Thuan Project Management Board, contractors have mobilized 150 pieces of equipment, 500 workers, and 83 technical staff to deploy 30 construction teams working in "3 shifts, 4 teams" throughout the holiday. To date, the entire project has been completed 85%, exceeding the overall schedule by more than 5.04%. In particular, the main bridge section - Rach Mieu 2 Bridge - is more than 15% ahead of schedule.
The Rach Mieu 2 Bridge spans the Tien River, connecting the provinces of Tien Giang and Ben Tre. It is located approximately 4 km upstream from the current Rach Mieu Bridge. The project has a total length of over 17.6 km.

This includes access roads with their starting point connecting to Dong Tam intersection (the junction between National Highway 1 and Provincial Road 870) in Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang province; and their end point connecting to Km16+660 of National Highway 60, in Ben Tre city, Ben Tre province, approximately 0.71 km from Ham Luong bridge.
The main section of the Rach Mieu 2 bridge, with a length of 1.971 km, is designed as a cable-stayed bridge with 4 lanes for motor vehicles, a width of 21.5 m, and a design speed of 80 km/h. The project has a total investment of over 6,810 billion VND, with construction starting in March 2022 (for the approach roads) and March 2023 (for the main cable-stayed bridge).
At the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge completion ceremony, Mr. Can Manh Hung, Director of the Management Board of the Trung Nam EC - Trung Chinh - Dat Phuong and Bac Trung Nam consortium, said that the company is very proud that the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project was completed just before the National Reunification Day.
The bridge not only helps alleviate traffic congestion but also opens up new development opportunities for the entire region. The local people have been eagerly awaiting this project, and it is a great honor for Trung Nam EC to directly contribute to the construction of the Rach Mieu 2 bridge.
Currently, Trung Nam EC and the consortium of contractors are focusing all their resources and deploying personnel to work in "three shifts, four teams" to ensure the project is completed on schedule as soon as possible, in accordance with the investor's plan.
Speaking at the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge completion ceremony, Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang acknowledged, highly appreciated, and warmly commended the very positive results achieved by the Ministry of Transport (now the Ministry of Construction), Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces, the My Thuan Project Management Board, consultants, and contractors in the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project.
In the coming period, in order to continue the smooth implementation of transportation infrastructure construction projects in the province, Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang requested the Party Committee, government, and people of Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces to continue assisting, supporting, and creating all conditions for land clearance and resettlement. At the same time, he directed relevant agencies to support the project owners, investors, and contractors during the construction process.
Regarding the Rach Mieu 2 bridge, which was completed today, Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang requested the Ministry of Construction, the My Thuan Project Management Board, consultants, and contractors to continue to coordinate closely with local authorities to further accelerate construction progress and bring the project into operation as soon as possible.
In the coming period, the Ministry of Finance will continue to closely coordinate with the Ministry of Construction and relevant localities to ensure the project is completed in accordance with the Prime Minister's directives. In accordance with its assigned functions and duties, the Ministry of Finance will continue to advise the Government on including major projects in transportation infrastructure, energy infrastructure, industrial zones and clusters in the region into the public investment plan to further enhance the effectiveness after the Rach Mieu bridge is completed and put into operation.
