On the afternoon of February 18, at the 3rd floor Hall, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a meeting of the Provincial Council to consider awarding the titles of "People's Artisan" and "Meritorious Artisan" in the field of intangible cultural heritage.
Attending the meeting were Mr. Nguyen Minh Phu - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism - Vice Chairman of the Council and members of the Council.
Overview of the meeting
Implementing Plan No. 3563/KH-UBND dated August 13, 2024 of the Provincial People's Committee on considering and awarding the titles of "People's Artisan", "Meritorious Artisan" in the field of intangible cultural heritage of Dien Bien province for the fourth time, from January 2, 2025 to January 12, 2025, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism - the standing agency of the Council for considering and awarding the titles of "People's Artisan", "Meritorious Artisan" in the field of intangible cultural heritage of Dien Bien province for the fourth time, received a total of 34 dossiers (including 03 dossiers of individuals in Dien Bien province requesting the title of "People's Artisan" and 31 dossiers of individuals requesting the title of "Meritorious Artisan" in the field of intangible cultural heritage for the fourth time).
At the meeting, the Council listened to a report on the implementation process and discussed, evaluated, and carefully reviewed each profile to select individuals with outstanding moral qualities and talents, who are holding and teaching intangible cultural heritage; have influence in society, have prestige in the community, and have made great contributions to the cause of protecting and promoting intangible cultural heritage in Dien Bien province to ensure and meet all the standards prescribed in Articles 7, 8, 13, and 14 of Decree 93/2023/ND-CP dated December 25, 2023 of the Government.
Based on the discussion, the Council members voted by secret ballot for each case to be considered for the title of "People's Artisan" and "Meritorious Artisan".
As a result, 01 individual had enough votes to agree to submit to the Ministerial Council for consideration of awarding the title of "People's Artisan", and 17 individuals had enough votes to agree to submit to the Ministerial Council for consideration of awarding the title of "Meritorious Artisan".
Concluding the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Council emphasized that the Council members continue to pay attention to grasping information and public opinions reflecting on the artisans in the process of completing the dossier; notify the results of the provincial Council meeting to the individuals requesting the award and the locality; complete the procedures and dossiers submitted to the specialized Council at the Ministry level to ensure the content and progress according to regulations.
