Press conference on socio-economic situation in the first quarter of 2025 and economic development tasks

At the press conference, on behalf of the Provincial People's Committee, comrade Phan Dinh Hai - Deputy Chief of Office of the Provincial People's Committee informed about the socio -economic situation in the first quarter and key tasks in the second quarter of 2025.

2025 is a year of special significance, a year of acceleration, breakthrough, completion of the 5-year socio-economic development plan 2021 - 2025 and creating space for the country to enter a new era, an era of the Vietnamese people's rise. This is also the year of many important events of the country and the province: Party Congresses at all levels, the 21st Provincial Party Congress towards the 14th National Party Congress, the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Binh Dinh Province (March 31), the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30), the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2).

Implementing the Resolution of the Provincial People's Council on socio-economic development tasks in 2025, the Provincial People's Committee held a Conference to deploy socio-economic development tasks and the Key Work Program in 2025, handing over the Decision on assigning socio-economic targets in 2025 and the Key Work Program in 2025 to departments, branches and localities in the province, striving to achieve the highest level of socio-economic development targets in 2025. Accordingly, the socio-economic situation in the first quarter of 2025 maintained stability and development, the gross local product (GRDP) in the first quarter of 2025 is estimated to increase by 7.51% over the same period. Of which, agriculture, forestry and fishery increased by 3.43%; industry and construction increased by 10.96% (of which industry increased by 10.70%; construction increased by 11.75%); services increased by 7.84%; product tax minus product subsidy increased by 2.93%. The progress of disbursement of public investment capital achieved positive results. The disbursement value is estimated at 1,165.3 billion VND, reaching 13.85% of the capital plan assigned by the Prime Minister and higher than the average rate of the whole country.

Cultural and social activities continued to have many positive changes. The province has organized carefully and safely for people to enjoy Spring, celebrate the Lunar New Year and festivals in a joyful and economical atmosphere. Social security work has been ensured, people's lives in the province are basically stable. The province has focused on directing and drastically implementing the phased plan to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. As of March 31, 2025, 4,299/4,364 households in the area have started construction and repair of houses, reaching 99% of the plan. National defense and security continue to be maintained. The fight against crime has been strengthened; social evils and traffic accidents have been controlled; fire and explosion safety has been ensured.

Regarding the key tasks and solutions in the coming time, all levels, sectors and localities in the province will focus on implementing drastic, synchronous and effective solutions to strive for a gross regional domestic product (GRDP) increase of over 8% in the first 6 months of 2025. In particular, continue to promote the conversion of crop structure. Focus on herd restoration associated with the development of large-scale farm models, applying high technology, ensuring biosafety and effective disease control; speed up the construction progress of agricultural and food processing factories. Focus on removing obstacles and creating favorable conditions for projects and factories to deploy investment, construction and put into production in 2025; in particular, strive to complete ahead of schedule in 2025 for 10 key projects expected to be completed in 2026. Speed ​​up the investment progress of new key industrial parks. Focus on accelerating site clearance to soon start new, large-scale, breakthrough projects. Focus on synchronously implementing solutions for trade, service and tourism development; organizing trade and tourism stimulus programs during the peak summer tourism season of 2025. Strictly manage state budget revenue and expenditure. Improve the quality of activities in the cultural and social fields. Focus on resolutely and effectively implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo, the Action Program of the Provincial Party Committee and the Plan of the Provincial People's Committee on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation, associated with the implementation of the Project on developing the semiconductor industry, artificial intelligence and cyber security in the province, period 2025 - 2030. Focus on strongly and resolutely implementing the revolution in organizational apparatus, ensuring progress according to the direction and guidance of the Central Government; At the same time, do not let it affect the growth target, other tasks and jobs. Continue to promote administrative procedure reform, improve the investment and business environment; improve public ethics, strictly implement discipline and administrative discipline...
