Meeting to discuss the Mid-Autumn Festival

The 2023 Phan Thiet Mid-Autumn Festival is expected to be held at 6:00 p.m. on September 27 (the 13th day of the 8th lunar month) with the participation of 21 units located in the city, including 18 wards and communes, and 3 schools: Le Loi Secondary and High School, Le Quy Don Primary and Secondary School and Tinh Thuong School with nearly 2,500 students in primary and secondary schools.

Mr. Nguyen Nam Long - Vice Chairman of Phan Thiet City People's Committee chaired the meeting.

In recent times, the Phan Thiet Mid-Autumn Festival has not only been an interesting and attractive playground for children during the Mid-Autumn Festival, but also a festival honoring the traditional cultural values ​​of Phan Thiet, setting a record for "The largest Mid-Autumn Festival in Vietnam", attracting a large number of people and tourists every time they come to the coastal city of Phan Thiet.

According to the Plan of Phan Thiet City People's Committee, this year's Mid-Autumn Festival has the theme: "Welcoming the National Tourism Year 2023 Binh Thuan - Green Convergence, Phan Thiet children enjoy the Mid-Autumn Festival, study hard - Follow Uncle Ho's words". The organizing units have designed suitable and meaningful designs to praise the Party, beloved Uncle Ho, typical images of Phan Thiet hometown, combined with promoting the National Tourism Year "Binh Thuan - Green Convergence", the strengths of Phan Thiet - Binh Thuan such as: seafood, dragon fruit, environmental protection... to friends and domestic and foreign tourists.

Regarding the size and number of participating lanterns, each ward and commune makes 1-2 large lanterns with the unit's name tag attached, in accordance with the theme of the Festival. Following each large lantern of the units are small lanterns of the students. The wards and communes take the lead in organizing for local schools to guide students to make their own lanterns according to the model, competing at the ward and commune level. After that, select the small lantern model registered with the Organizing Committee to participate at the city level. The People's Committees of the wards and communes take the lead in coordinating with the schools to select students to participate in the lantern procession according to each unit, after each large lantern there are 80 small lanterns of 80 primary and secondary school students.

At the meeting, delegates gave their opinions on the parade formation, security and order plan, and the prize structure for large and small lanterns. Regarding the location, after surveying, delegates agreed to choose Nguyen Tat Thanh Square as the venue. The route will start from Nguyen Tat Thanh Street - Victory Monument roundabout - Le Duan Street - Le Duan - Nguyen Hoi intersection - turn left on Le Duan - Victory Monument roundabout (here the formation will disband).

The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee assigned the Phan Thiet City Youth Union to preside over and coordinate with the City Department of Education and Training and related departments and offices to inspect the lantern making progress of units, check the quality and quantity of lanterns, and promptly make adjustments to prepare well for this year's Mid-Autumn Festival. The People's Committees of wards, communes and primary and secondary schools organize students to make Mid-Autumn lanterns to ensure quality, quantity and time for the Festival.
