(Dan Tri) - Awaji Island in Japan is a tourist destination that attracts special attention because of a museum dedicated to... onions.

The Uzuno Oka Onaruto Bridge Memorial Hall is a museum dedicated to onions, which are easy to grow on the island thanks to its unique climate.

According to the Mirror, Awaji onions are famous throughout Japan for their sweetness and softness. Visitors to the island will easily recognize the presence of onions because of their characteristic aroma that spreads throughout the space.

Because of the popularity of onions, Awaji Island is now filled with souvenirs, snacks, and restaurants serving onion-related dishes. Here, visitors will find everything onion-related, from giant onion statues overlooking the ocean to onion wigs and onion-themed games.

In spring, visitors can visit the Uzu no Kuni Uzu no Oka shop, which sells many cute gifts from the island, including real Awaji onions.

If you don't like onions, you can still enjoy local specialties such as boiled herring or wakame seaweed harvested nearby.

Among them is the beef and onion burger that won first prize in a national burger competition for 850 yen (about 140,000 VND).
