From April 21 to May 20, 2025, the Provincial Traffic Police Department will deploy 100% of its personnel to strengthen traffic safety during the April 30 and May 1, 2025 holidays.

It is forecasted that before, during and after the holidays celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day on April 30 and International Labor Day on May 1, the traffic volume on all road and waterway routes of the province will increase, especially in key areas of tourism, entertainment, etc.

Along with setting up fixed checkpoints, the traffic police force continues to simultaneously deploy many mobile alcohol concentration testing teams.

Based on forecasts and situation assessments, seriously and effectively implement the directions of the Secretariat, the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Public Security on tasks and solutions to ensure traffic safety; promptly prevent, detect, stop and focus on handling violations that are direct causes of traffic accidents, not allowing particularly serious traffic accidents, illegal racing, traffic jams and other complicated traffic safety situations to occur, serving people's smooth travel during the holidays; effectively combat all types of crimes operating on traffic routes, contributing to ensuring security and order in the province.

During the first 2 days of the peak period, the Waterway Police Team, Traffic Police Department (Provincial Police) inspected and handled 19 cases of violations of inland waterway traffic safety, including 3 cases of crew members violating alcohol concentration.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Hung, Head of the Provincial Traffic Police Department, said that the Traffic Police Department has developed a plan to have 100% of its personnel on duty during the holiday. Develop a plan to regulate and divert traffic from a distance, early on, and be ready to support people and tourists when requested. At the same time, strengthen patrols and controls to ensure traffic safety and order in closed areas on all roads and waterways; especially in tourist centers and routes from the shore to the islands. Continue to strictly handle, without restricted areas, without exceptions, violations that have the potential to cause traffic accidents such as: Driving under the influence of alcohol, using stimulants, drugs, driving in the wrong direction, speeding, etc.

Particularly for Ha Long City, the unit has also developed a plan to coordinate with professional forces, arranging many teams and checkpoints to ensure security and order, traffic safety for the Ha Long Carnival festival and other cultural, sports and tourism activities.

On the road, in the first 2 days of the peak period, the Traffic Police Department detected and handled 688 cases of traffic safety violations, detained 226 vehicles, and deducted 129 points from driving licenses.

In the first quarter of 2025, on the road, the provincial traffic police detected and handled 11,797 cases of traffic safety violations, including nearly 500 cases of alcohol concentration violations; on the waterway, 149 cases of violations were detected and handled, 4 vehicles were temporarily detained; 2 licenses and related practice certificates were revoked.
