More than 6,000 students and parents experience the 'smart world'

Students and parents in Da Nang City enthusiastically participated in the festival with the theme 'Experience the smart world' to experience a creative, technological playground to apply to green living.

Creating waves of technological inspiration

On December 7, more than 6,000 students, parents and teachers attended the Science and Technology Festival "Open STEM day 2024" organized by FPT Danang Secondary School.

This year, "Open STEM day 2024" held at FPT Danang Secondary School took place with 3 main activities including: FPT Schools Open Robot Tournament, the final round of the STEMPetition competition at the grassroots level and a diverse STEM Challenges application experience space for students.

Specifically, participating teams designed robots with two types: “farmer” and “transporter” to recreate the journey of harvesting rice, one of the unique symbols of Vietnamese agriculture. This is not only an opportunity for students to demonstrate their creative talents, but also to inspire the application of technology in sustainable agriculture.

In the group stage, the teams compete in a round-robin format to select the 8 teams with the best results. In the knockout round, the 8 teams are divided into groups and compete in a knockout format to select the teams with the highest scores, awarding first, second, third and secondary prizes.

In addition, the event also featured a STEM Challenges space with more than 25 booths from FPT Schools and partners, offering students a variety of STEM activities, from virtual reality (VR) experiences, Coding Star programming, to intellectual games such as IQ Circuit and 3D Puzzle Blocks. This is an opportunity for students to approach and practice technology in a lively and creative way.

Dang Le Khanh (5/7 grade student at Tran Nhan Tong Primary School) shared: “I feel extremely happy and excited to participate in such a big event with many interesting activities. What I love most is watching robots, trying to explore VR and playing creative STEM games. I hope to have more opportunities to participate in such events to both learn and know many new things.”

Ms. Nguyen Thi Kieu Ngan, Director of FPT Danang Primary and Secondary School, said that "Open STEM Day 2024" is organized with many new features, aiming to bring rich and comprehensive experiences to primary and secondary school students in Danang and Quang Nam.

With the theme “Experience the Smart World”, this year’s event featured the “Golden Season” open robot tournament, attracting many teams outside the system. In addition, the number of STEM Challenges booths also increased significantly compared to last year, creating a creative, technological space and helping to promote the strong development of the STEM education community.
