According to a quick report from Cao Bang Irrigation One Member Co., Ltd., currently there are 521.08 hectares of spring crop area in 2025 at risk of drought.
In which, the districts with high risk: Hoa An with rice area of 219.49 ha; Ha Quang with short-term industrial crop area of 61.15 ha; Trung Khanh with color area of 181.08 ha; Ha Lang with rice area of 26.02 ha; Nguyen Binh with rice area of 33.34 ha.
Carrying out irrigation tasks for agricultural production, Cao Bang Irrigation One Member Co., Ltd. operates 65 medium and large irrigation works in the province with 19 reservoirs, 20 pumping stations, 26 dams and a water transport canal system. Up to now, 13/19 reservoirs have reached a capacity of 56 - 90% of the design capacity, due to dry weather and no rain causing the reservoirs to lack water. In particular, 6 reservoirs have a capacity lower than the design capacity, at risk of water shortage, affecting irrigation for agricultural production, including: Thom Luong reservoir, Minh Tam commune (Nguyen Binh) reaching below 25%; Khuoi Keo reservoir, Cao Chuong commune (Trung Khanh) reaching 42%; Thom Rao reservoir, Ly Quoc commune (Ha Lang) reaching 42%; Khuoi Ang reservoir, Hoang Tung commune (Hoa An) reaching 45%; Thom Cai Lake, Ngoc Dao Commune (Ha Quang) reached 47%; Cao Thang Lake, Phong Chau Commune (Trung Khanh) reached 50% of its design capacity. There is a risk of water shortage at Pac Gay pumping station, Na Lau pumping station, Hong Viet Commune (Hoa An); Na Dam pumping dam, Ngoc Dao Commune (Ha Quang). The water shortage on the river is happening, the water flow into the canal head sluice is lower than the design, but up to now, irrigation water is still guaranteed.
