Recently, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024), Hanoi Museum coordinated with the Thang Long - Hanoi Antiquities Association to organize a thematic exhibition "Red River Civilization to Hanoi Street".

The Dong Son Bronze Age, dating from the 5th century BC to the early 1st-3rd century AD, includes artifacts such as drums, jars, knives, axes, human statues, animal statues... discovered and collected mainly in the provinces of the Northern Delta and along the Red River in Hanoi, the Ma River in Thanh Hoa, the Ca River in Nghe An...
The group of ceramic artifacts dating from the 11th-17th centuries includes jars, pots, animals, teapots, lime pots, bowls, plates... discovered and collected in northern provinces and cities such as Hai Duong, Hoa Binh, Tuyen Quang, Ha Giang, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An...
The group of signed porcelains of Vietnamese kings in the 18th and 19th centuries ordered from China and Chinese porcelains in the 18th and 19th centuries, including teapots, cups, plates, bowls, wine bottles... are collected mainly in Hanoi, Nam Dinh, Hue, Ho Chi Minh City...

At the event, Mr. Nguyen Bang Giang, Chairman of the Thang Long Antiques Association, said that the Association has combined and presented unique antiques from many artifacts of members and collectors in Hanoi. These antiques will bring the public to the trend of collecting Vietnamese antiques, different from the 1990s and before, when many people preferred to collect foreign antiques such as Chinese, Japanese, Korean...
One of the most special artifacts in this exhibition is the 11th century bird statue. This artifact is both symbolic and unique. The bird's head is a duck's beak and holds a lotus stem, standing on a double lotus pedestal, the bird's wavy tail is shaped like a Bodhi leaf, a symbol of Buddhism in the 11th-13th centuries.
The exhibition introduces more than 500 antiques of members and collectors in Hanoi. Through the exhibition, the Organizing Committee hopes to spread the love of ancient Vietnamese pottery in particular and the quintessence of the nation's antiques in general.
