More than 50 papers participated in the scientific conference on Major General Hoang Sam

The presentations at the conference focused on clarifying the life and career of Major General Hoang Sam for the Vietnamese revolution, an outstanding son of his hometown Quang Binh.

On November 29, in Dong Hoi city, Quang Binh province, in coordination with the Institute of Military History, the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, organized a scientific seminar with the theme "Major General Hoang Sam - A staunch communist, talented military commander, an excellent son of Quang Binh homeland".

The scientific conference is a key event in a series of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day taking place in Quang Binh province.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee Le Ngoc Quang affirmed: In more than 40 years of revolutionary activities, Major General Hoang Sam has demonstrated the shining qualities of a revolutionary soldier; a talented commander; a diligent and dedicated cadre; wholeheartedly and wholeheartedly devoting his intelligence and resources to serving the Fatherland, serving the Army, serving the people.

According to the Secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee, the important and great contributions of comrade Hoang Sam contributed to further embellishing the glorious history and tradition of the Party, the nation, the Vietnam People's Army and Quang Binh homeland.

The Party Committee and people of Quang Binh are always proud of comrade Hoang Sam, a loyal communist soldier who fought and sacrificed his whole life for the country and the people.

Major General Hoang Sam's real name is Tran Van Ky, born in 1915, in a poor farming family in Van Hoa commune, Tuyen Hoa district (Quang Binh).

He was one of the first generals of the Army, promoted by Uncle Ho in the first batch in 1948. He was also the first Captain of the Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army, the predecessor of the Vietnam People's Army.

During his revolutionary activities until his death (in 1968), Major General Hoang Sam was awarded and posthumously awarded many noble medals by the Party and State, including the Ho Chi Minh Medal and the First Class Military Exploit Medal...

At the conference, the Organizing Committee received more than 50 presentations from leaders and former leaders of the Ministry of National Defense; heads of the General Staff and General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; leaders of Quang Binh province; historical witnesses, scientists inside and outside the Army...

The content of the presentations discussed each specific issue, focusing on clarifying the excellent qualities of the staunch communist soldier; the Captain of the Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army, a military talent of the Vietnam People's Army, an outstanding son of his homeland Quang Binh.
