Head of BPJPH Halal Product Development and Assurance Monitoring Center Dzikro informed that among the more than 50 countries, there are Singapore, Saudi Arabia, South Korea and Uruguay.
More than 17 countries have established cooperation agreements with Indonesia in the field of Halal product assurance; 28 foreign religious organizations are also evaluating their applications to establish cooperation in this field.
Mr. Dzikro said that the cooperation agreements reflected the interest of businesses around the world in ensuring Indonesian Halal products.
The Halal trend is growing more and more widely along with the Halal lifestyle all over the world. The Halal lifestyle is not only applicable to Muslims but to everyone, regardless of religion, tribe, nationality and place of residence.
The official emphasized: "The mandatory Halal regulation in Indonesia's Law No. 33 of 2014 is an important point in bringing about changes in the situation and conditions for implementing Halal product assurance in the country.
Accordingly, Halal products have changed in meaning, not only related to religion but also expanded to add value to products that have an impact on the economy.
Starting from October 2024, all products imported, circulated and traded in Indonesia will need to be certified as Halal.
Over the past 4 years, as of early 2024, more than 3.4 million products in Indonesia have been certified Halal.
