More than 5,000 trees planted before the opening day of Aeon Mall Hue

More than 500 guests, including representatives from Thua Thien Hue provincial government, the Consulate General of Japan in Da Nang, local residents and employees from AeonMall Vietnam and member companies of the Aeon Group, enthusiastically participated and joined hands to plant the first trees at Aeon Mall Hue - one of the most anticipated projects in Hue recently.

More than 5,000 trees are planted around Aeon Mall Hue shopping center.

This event is part of Aeon Group's continuous efforts in Thua Thien Hue, contributing to Aeon Group's previous tree planting programs from 2010 and 2012 with a total of 72,000 trees on an area of ​​34 hectares of forest in Lang Co.

Continuing the contribution and sustainable relationship from more than a decade ago, at the tree planting ceremony, more than 5,000 native seedlings from 8 different species were planted, including: honeysuckle, peony, jasmine, apricot blossom, gardenia, hibiscus, laurel, and yellow apricot. "By selecting and planting native species, we aim to nurture and grow forests for local communities," shared the brand representative.

Primary school students enthusiastically participated in the tree planting ceremony.

With the message "Nurturing green roofs, cultivating healthy living rhythms", each tree planted will inspire the community to build and cultivate green living spaces, sustainable development, in line with Hue City's goal of becoming a sustainable and livable city.

At the event, Mr. Mori Takero, Consul General of Japan in Da Nang shared: "The 5,000 trees planted this time not only contribute to greening the area, but also symbolize the prosperity of Central Vietnam and will become a symbol of friendship between Japan and Central Vietnam."

Tree planting event is a traditional activity of AeonMall Vietnam taking place before the opening of new shopping malls.

Among the guests, 150 students and teachers from 5 schools built by the Aeon 1% Club Fund in Hue City also enthusiastically participated and skillfully planted each tree.

Ho Bao Vy (grade 5, An Hoa primary school) shared: "I often help my grandparents take care of trees at home, but this is the first time I have participated in a tree planting event with the community. Today, I planted 3 trees with my friends, I will come back soon to visit the trees that I have planted."

A special highlight of the ceremony was the event where Aeon Mall Hue received the Gold certification of the "Lotus Green Building Criteria System" from the Vietnam Green Building Council (VGBC). Aeon Mall Hue is one of the few shopping malls in Vietnam to achieve this prestigious certificate. This is a recognition and affirmation of Aeon Mall's commitment to environmental protection and efforts to improve the quality of life for the local community, in line with the Aeon Group's principles.
