This afternoon (October 10), Dong Nai Power Company Limited said that in the morning of the same day, the SB Bao Long 03 ship passing through the 110kV line on the Dong Nai River violated the safety distance, causing an electrical discharge incident.
This incident did not cause any human casualties but caused a power outage on the 110kV line through the area, affecting more than 38,000 households in Bien Hoa City.
At the scene, there was a flash of light about 10m long on the wire, and two antenna masts of the cargo ship were damaged.
After the incident, Dong Nai Power Company isolated the faulty line and transferred the power to another line to restore power to the Tan Mai 110kV transformer station. About 30 minutes later, the power outage was resolved.
Statistics show that more than 38,000 households in Quyet Thang, Thong Nhat, Trung Dung, Quang Vinh, Buu Long, Hoa Binh, Thanh Binh and Tan Phong wards lost power.
The company has inspected and assessed the extent of the incident's impact on the line. As a result, the line was not damaged and is in good condition to be re-energized and operated as before.
