Over 31,000 Vietnamese students are currently studying in the United States.

The number of Vietnamese students studying in the US has reached over 31,000, with a high concentration in science , technology, engineering, and mathematics.

The information was announced at the International Education Week held from November 18-22 in Hanoi.

According to the Open Doors Report by the Institute of International Education (IIE), the number of Vietnamese students at universities and colleges in the US continues to increase, reaching 22,066 students in the 2023-2024 academic year.

This number reaches over 31,000 students if all levels of study are included. Vietnam is the leading ASEAN country in terms of the number of students studying in the US.

Notably, nearly 50% of Vietnamese students in the US are studying fields in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), contributing to Vietnam's goals of developing human resources for high-tech industries.

For the first time, New Zealand is offering government scholarships at the university level to Vietnamese students.

In 2025, New Zealand will for the first time offer government scholarships to Vietnamese students enrolling in one of eight public universities in the country.

Australian universities have updated information regarding the suspension of student admissions from five provinces in Vietnam.

In a letter responding to VietNamNet today (October 22), Wollongong University, Australia, stated that the university continues to accept applications from all regions of Vietnam and has communicated this update to its admissions agents.

Out of every 5 Vietnamese people who apply for a New Zealand student visa, 4 are approved.

According to statistics from the New Zealand Immigration Agency, approximately 84% of Vietnamese applicants for student visas are approved, which is higher than the global average.
