The number of Vietnamese students studying in the US has reached more than 31,000, with many concentrated in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
The information was announced at the International Education Week taking place from November 18-22 in Hanoi.
The Open Doors Report by the Institute of International Education (IIE) said the number of Vietnamese students at universities and colleges in the US continues to increase, reaching 22,066 students in the 2023-2024 school year.
This figure reaches more than 31,000 students if all levels of education are included. Vietnam is the leading ASEAN country in the number of students studying in the US.
Notably, nearly 50% of Vietnamese students in the US study in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), contributing to Vietnam's goals of developing human resources for high-tech industries.
