At the event, Mr. Tran The Cuong - Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training said that the program "March of Capital Students" attracted the participation of 47 units, representatives of 30 districts, towns, and a number of international schools.
Along with that are the Military - General Staff Ceremonial Group, the People's Public Security Ceremonial Group, students of Vietnamese and Lao ethnic groups... a total of about 3,000 people.
Each performance at the program conveys the children's love and pride for their beautiful homeland and country, demonstrating their artistic talent nurtured at their beloved school - where they study and practice every day.
Mr. Cuong also said: “The program is an opportunity for students to exchange and learn from each other and from international friends and teachers, helping them to develop their full potential, while at the same time arousing the aspiration to develop the country and national pride for generations of students in the capital - the future owners, an important force, joining hands for the development of the city of a thousand years of culture”.
At the program, Mr. Jonathan Wallace Baker - Head of UNESCO Representative Office in Hanoi expressed his joy to know that the Hanoi Department of Education and Training has deployed the Happy School Criteria for all schools, from kindergarten to high school, this school year.
“This is a significant and exciting step towards creating a more positive and inclusive learning environment for Hanoi students. This initiative is fully aligned with the UNESCO Global Framework for Happy Schools and our partnership with Vietnam in promoting inclusive, equitable and quality education, in order to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 4.
“As students march today through the peaceful heart of Hanoi, I hope they will feel proud and appreciative of their heritage and their fellow citizens, from all ages and backgrounds. They will hold their heads high and share their stories and achievements with their international peers in peace, global citizenship, creativity and, of course, education,” said Jonathan Wallace Baker.
