The 265km-long Darien Forest, located between Colombia and Panama, is considered a “main corridor” for migrants from South America to the US because it is cheaper than traveling by sea. However, it is also one of the most dangerous regions in the world .

Migrants face many dangers such as poisonous snakes, wild animals, rugged terrain and criminal gangs, especially Colombia's Clan del Golfo gang.
