More than 23,000 elderly and disabled people in Quang Ngai province traveling on the Sa Ky - Ly Son waterway and vice versa received exemptions or discounts on tickets worth hundreds of millions of VND.

On December 23, the Port Management Board and the Quang Ngai Inland Waterway Port Authority said that in 2024, transport units on the Sa Ky - Ly Son waterway route and vice versa have exempted and reduced train tickets for the elderly and people with disabilities when traveling on the route.

More than 23 thousand elderly and disabled people are exempted from or have reduced fares when traveling on the Sa Ky - Ly Son route.

Accordingly, passenger transport units operating on the route have supported ticket price reductions for 23,624 elderly people and 163 disabled people traveling on the route with a total amount of more than 645 million VND.

According to the leaders of the Port Management Board and the Quang Ngai Inland Waterways Port Authority, the work of supporting ticket price reduction and exemption for priority subjects is 15% discount on ticket price for elderly passengers and 25% discount for disabled passengers.

It is known that currently on the Sa Ky - Ly Son waterway and vice versa, there are 8 passenger ships operating, with an average travel time of 45 minutes. These passenger ships operate in conditions of sea waves of level 6 or lower.
