More than 200 young people and students were filled with pride when visiting Truong Sa.

(Dan Tri) - Many meaningful activities took place on the special voyage bringing more than 200 outstanding youth union members and students from across the country to the beloved Truong Sa archipelago.

On May 29, a special meaningful train trip in the journey "Students with the sea and islands of the Fatherland" in 2023 brought more than 200 students and outstanding youth union members from all over the country to Truong Sa island district and DK1 platform.

Before the departure ceremony, the delegation held an incense offering ceremony at the monument of the Ship Without Numbers (Cat Lai Port area, Ho Chi Minh City). Attending were: Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department Le Hai Binh; First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Bui Quang Huy.

According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet - Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Vietnam Student Association - the activities of the journey all demonstrate the desire to join hands and hearts with naval officers, soldiers and people to firmly maintain the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland. Making the Truong Sa archipelago closer to the mainland, affirming the normal and legal implementation of exploitation activities in the exclusive economic zone of our country.

The journey brought delegates and more than 200 students to visit, give gifts, and encourage naval officers, soldiers, and people on Song Tu Tay, Sinh Ton, Da Tay A, Truong Sa Lon islands, and DK1/2 rig.

This is the first special voyage organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association to celebrate the Congress of the Vietnam Student Association at all levels, towards the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Student Association (term 2023-2028); Celebrate the 10th anniversary of the "Students with the sea and islands of the Fatherland" program and the 35th anniversary of the Gac Ma incident (March 14, 1988 - March 14, 2023). Mr. Luong Van Tung, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union, Chairman of the Student Association of Bac Ninh University of Physical Education and Sports shared: "Being on the journey is a very lucky and proud thing for me, this is a practical activity of students nationwide in protecting sovereignty, building Vietnam's sea and islands, thereby expressing gratitude for the great sacrifices and contributions of the previous generation who fell for the peace, independence and freedom of the country".

Delegates and students attended the memorial service for the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the Gac Ma incident (March 14, 1988) and at the DK1/2 Phuc Tan Platform.

Miss Vietnam 2020 Do Thi Ha and Miss Peace Doan Thien An are also two young delegates on the trip. Miss Vietnam 2020 Do Thi Ha said that she proactively sought information and asked for experience from those who went before to fully understand the regulations of the trip, and at the same time prepared some meaningful gifts to give to the officers, soldiers and people on the island with the hope of adding positive energy to those who day and night guard the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland.

Cultural exchange performances with national pride sent to soldiers and people living on the islands visited by the delegation.

Delegates and soldiers were able to visit and admire the paper cranes, paintings... in the "Truong Sa Imprint" model creation contest and the photo exhibition on Vietnam's sea and island sovereignty. This contest was for more than 200 students during the time on board the ship throughout the voyage.

Officers, soldiers and local people joined in singing songs praising the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland as well as the close bond between the army and the people in a special cultural exchange on Truong Sa Lon Island.

A memorable and proud voyage for more than 200 delegates who braved the stormy seas, despite the harsh weather, with their youthful strength and patriotic spirit, brought everyone to the army and people of Truong Sa.
