The museum welcomes students from Hue High School for the Gifted in Science to visit and study.

After the announcement and widespread communication of the program to open to visitors for free, through registration channels, the Museum attracted over 400 registrations with over 2,000 visitors experiencing the experience. On the first day of opening (April 1, 2025), the Central Coastal Nature Museum welcomed over 150 visitors, most of whom were students participating in learning and experiencing.

“In preparation for this opening, the Department of Science and Technology has directed the Museum to organize and re-arrange and display some areas to enhance the experience for visitors, and at the same time arrange and assign staff to guide and explain to visitors even on holidays (Saturdays),” said Ms. Tran Thi Thuy Yen, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology.

The Central Coastal Nature Museum is a regional natural museum specializing in natural sciences, currently preserving and displaying many rare specimens of high scientific and historical value. The space for displaying rare animal and plant specimens, geological and mineral samples, and marine aquatic organisms at the Museum is not only a place to collect and store valuable specimens but also serves scientific research, education and training. The Museum currently owns many unique collections of specimens, including special specimens found only in the Central region.

Many sets of specimens collected and displayed at the Museum attract the interest and passion for learning and research of students.

Currently, the Museum is preserving and displaying 6 main sets of specimens, including: A set of geological and mineral specimens with 184 typical specimens of Vietnam and Hue city; A set of Hue forest wood specimens including 28 precious wood specimens; A set of insect specimens with 170 specimens vividly displayed in the model of "Insect Tree", recreating and stylizing the habitat according to the biological characteristics of the species; A set of captive butterfly specimens, with nearly 2,000 specimens; A set of aquatic specimens with more than 1,600 specimens, including about 1,500 specimens of fish from the Huong River and Tam Giang - Cau Hai lagoon and more than 100 fish specimens, bivalve specimens collected in the Son Cha - Hai Van sea area designed to be displayed in an aquarium, ensuring both scientific and aesthetic values, providing an in-depth look at the marine ecosystem of the Central region; A set of rare animal specimens with specimens of tigers, Saola, civets and many other wild animals.

In addition, the Museum also collected a number of other individual samples such as 3 silicified woody plant samples dating back 199 million years, cephalopod samples, bivalves...

Through its activities of opening its doors to visitors for sightseeing, learning and experience, the Museum not only contributes to promoting and enhancing the value of natural heritage, but also acts as a bridge between scientific research and community education, arousing passion and nurturing love for science. Thereby, it also gradually builds and affirms its position as a worthy scientific and technological institution of the Central Coast region and the whole country.
