On July 21, 100% of youth unions in the province simultaneously launched the 3rd Green Sunday in 2024 with many meaningful activities.
On July 21, all levels of the provincial Youth Union simultaneously carried out many meaningful activities such as cleaning the environment, planting trees, repairing, embellishing, and cleaning martyrs' monuments; visiting and giving gifts to families of policy beneficiaries, war invalids, relatives of martyrs' families, and people with revolutionary contributions; renovating the landscape, planting and taking care of flower roads, cleaning roads and residential areas; propagating, disseminating knowledge and raising awareness of union members, youth, and people to protect the environment, and classifying waste at source...
As a result of Green Sunday, the whole province attracted more than 10,000 union members and youths to participate, planting more than 2,800 new trees; repairing 1.5 km of rural roads; collecting 1,200 m³ of waste, removing 100 illegal advertising and classified ads; helping and giving gifts to more than 105 families of meritorious people and policy families; renovating and cleaning more than 52 martyr cemeteries, monuments, historical sites, and red addresses in the province...
The 3rd Green Sunday in 2024 is an opportunity for Lao Cai youth to raise awareness of environmental protection and climate change response. The program is organized on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2024), thereby educating the young generation of Lao Cai about patriotism and gratitude to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their blood to protect peace and national independence.
