More than 1,000 people walk in Phu My City to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Southern Liberation Day

The event attracted more than 1,000 participants from nearly 20 units, including officials, civil servants, armed forces, students, businesses and a large number of people.

From 6am, the delegations were present in large numbers, enthusiastically attending the opening ceremony in a vibrant atmosphere.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tan Cuong - Chairman of Phu My City People's Committee affirmed that the program not only aims to promote the sports movement following the example of Uncle Ho, but also is an opportunity to review the heroic revolutionary tradition, spread the spirit of solidarity, and contribute to building a civilized and modern Phu My city.

After the opening ceremony, the participants walked along the city’s main streets such as Vo Nguyen Giap – Nguyen Hue – Hung Vuong – Pham Hong Thai, with a total length of about 3km. This is the first time Phu My City has organized a large-scale walking program, creating a positive effect in the community.

Within the framework of the event, the People's Committee of Phu My City launched a fundraising campaign to care for people in difficult circumstances, receiving enthusiastic response with a total donation of nearly 200 million VND from individuals, groups and businesses in the area.

The program is not only a meaningful sports activity, but also demonstrates the spirit of humanity, solidarity and aspiration to build Phu My City to develop comprehensively, affectionately and worth living.
